Subaru has been offering significant price reductions on their vehicles in Vietnam over the past few months, and this trend continues into August 2024. It’s not just the popular Forester that’s seeing discounts; other models are also receiving attractive deals.
The Subaru Outback, for instance, currently offers the highest discount of up to VND 403 million. This brings the price of this fully imported car from Japan down to an attractive VND 1.696 billion.
This level of incentive is comparable to what one might find with European brands such as Volkswagen or Volvo. In fact, the Subaru Outback is one of the most heavily discounted models in the Vietnamese market for August 2024.
The Subaru BRZ, a sports car model, is also on offer with a substantial discount of VND 364 million, bringing its price down to VND 1.535 billion.
The ever-popular Subaru Forester is not to be outdone, with the company offering support on registration fees for this SUV during August. The discounts range from VND 50 million for the 2.0 iL version to VND 110 million for the 2.0 iL EyeSight and a substantial VND 140 million for the 2.0 iS EyeSight variant. This brings the price of the SUV down to a range of VND 919 million to VND 1.059 billion.

Despite these attractive discounts, Subaru models, with the exception of the Forester, tend to cater to a smaller niche market in Vietnam. Both the Subaru Outback and BRZ occupy unique segments: the Outback is a wagon, while the BRZ is a sports car.
The Subaru Outback received a minor upgrade in April 2023, including a new USB Type C port and an updated infotainment system interface with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The X-Mode driving system was also enhanced with an Auto Restore feature.
Under the hood, the Outback is powered by a 2.5L 4-cylinder Boxer gasoline engine that produces 166 horsepower at 5,000-5,800 rpm and 252 Nm of torque at 3,800 rpm. This is paired with a CVT transmission that simulates 8 speeds and a permanent all-wheel-drive system.
The Subaru BRZ, on the other hand, boasts a 2.4L 4-cylinder engine that delivers 231 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 250 Nm of torque at 3,700 rpm. It comes with a 6-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive.
The Subaru BRZ was introduced to the Vietnamese market in early 2022.
Both the Outback and BRZ are equipped with the EyeSight active safety technology package, which includes features such as pre-collision braking, throttle management, adaptive cruise control, lane departure and sway warning, and a front vehicle start alert.
Subaru is set to expand its offerings in Vietnam this year with the introduction of the Crosstrek, a B-segment SUV that is expected to be priced at a premium.
