The eyes of car enthusiasts worldwide are currently fixed on Vietnam as ten supercars participating in the upcoming Gumball 3000 rally, scheduled for next month, have arrived at Tan Son Nhat International Airport. Although this number pales in comparison to the massive 120-car convoy initially announced for the world’s largest supercar rally, it still offers local car aficionados a rare treat and a glimpse of some unique vehicles.
A video circulating on social media showcases an extraordinary sight: a fleet of tow trucks lined up, ready to transport the first batch of cars to Vietnam for Gumball 3000. Among these vehicles are a Mercedes-Benz E-Class tuned by Brabus 800, an Audi RS5, the super SUV Lamborghini Urus, a Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT, the Porsche 911 GT2 RS supercar, a Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow transformed into a pickup truck, a Rolls-Royce Dawn, the limited-edition Ferrari 812 Competizione of which only 999 exist globally, and a beautifully decal-adorned Ferrari 296 GTB, alongside the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series.
These supercars, luxury vehicles, and SUVs will remain in Vietnam for over two weeks before participating in the Gumball 3000 event on September 14 and 15, 2024. Car enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the second batch of vehicles for this prestigious rally, which is expected to include heavyweights such as the Bugatti Chiron, Pagani Huayra BC Roadster, and Porsche Carrera GT, alongside dozens of other supercars, luxury vehicles, and SUVs.
Additionally, two Bugatti Chiron and Chiron Super Sport supercars from Cambodian tycoons are confirmed participants, along with two other Chirons from an American businessman, despite their absence from the initial list. Prior to this, the organizers had revealed that these models would be among the first cars to join the Gumball 3000 rally.
Representing Vietnam, Mr. Dang Le Nguyen Vu will welcome the convoy with his own impressive fleet of 18 vehicles, including a Bugatti Veyron, a Ford GT, and notably, the Ford GT ’67 Heritage Edition, alongside 15 Ferrari supercars such as the 360, 458, 488, F12, California T, and 599.
