Mitsubishi has unveiled its highly anticipated 2024 Triton model, with an official launch planned for the Vietnamese market on September 11th. Mitsubishi dealerships across the nation have already started taking pre-orders for this exciting new vehicle.
Just before its debut, the 2024 Triton was spotted on the streets, capturing the attention of many.
The 2024 Triton is built on a new, sturdier platform than its predecessor, enhancing its off-road capabilities. This Japanese pickup truck boasts impressive dimensions, with a length of 5,320 mm, a width of 1,865 mm, and a height of 1,795 mm. It also has a wheelbase of 3,130 mm and a remarkable ground clearance of up to 222 mm. Compared to the previous generation, the wheelbase has increased by 130 mm, and the ground clearance ranges from 203 to 222 mm, depending on the variant.
As evident from the images, the 2024 Triton’s design is identical to the one unveiled in Thailand. This pickup truck embodies the Dynamic Shield design language, with modern refinements that give it a contemporary look.
The front end is characterized by an expanded grille with a prominent rectangular shape. It features LED daytime running lights and LED projector headlights similar to the new Xpander. The fog lights are positioned below the front bumper. The rear end of the 2024 Triton has also been redesigned, showcasing a distinctive L-shaped LED light signature.
It remains to be seen if any features will be omitted from the Vietnamese-spec model. In Thailand, the Triton is equipped with a 7-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10-inch infotainment screen that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also offers a 6-speaker audio system, two 12V charging ports, and smart key functionality, among other features.
In terms of safety, the 2024 Mitsubishi Triton is packed with advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). These include Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Forward Collision Mitigation (FCM), Blind Spot Warning (BSW), Lane Change Assist (LCA), and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA).
Under the hood, the 2024 Triton offered in Thailand boasts two engine options:
The first is a 2.4-liter MIVEC single-turbocharged diesel engine that produces 183 horsepower at 3,500 rpm and 430 Nm of torque between 2,250 and 2,500 rpm.
The second is a 2.4-liter MIVEC twin-turbocharged diesel engine that delivers 204 horsepower and 470 Nm of torque between 1,500 and 2,750 rpm. This engine is paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
The top-of-the-line variant comes with seven drive modes, electronic power steering, and Super Select II 4WD, allowing seamless switching between 2H and 4H.
Customers who purchase the 2024 Triton will enjoy a standard warranty of up to 5 years or 150,000 km, whichever comes first. Additionally, from August 12, 2024, to September 10, 2024, customers who pre-order the All-New Triton 2024 will be entitled to special benefits, including 10 free oil and genuine oil filter changes within 5 years or 100,000 km (whichever comes first), following the recommended maintenance schedule by Mitsubishi Motors Vietnam.
