Suzuki has officially confirmed the discontinuation of the Ertiga Hybrid in Vietnam during the launch event of the XL7 Hybrid on August 20, 2024. Prior to this, the company had been offering significant discounts on the model to clear inventory.

In August 2024, Suzuki did not offer any promotions for the Ertiga Hybrid. However, dealerships continued to offer their own discounts on the model.

Dealerships offered to cover the full registration fee and provided gifts to customers purchasing the Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid, with a total value of up to 89 million VND for both the MT and AT versions. After the discounts, the MPV’s price dropped to 484 million VND for the MT version and 519 million VND for the AT version. Some dealerships even offered discounts of up to 100 million VND to quickly clear their inventory.

It is important to note that the Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid models offered at dealerships were manufactured in 2023 (2023 VIN). Therefore, the quantity and color options for these vehicles may be limited.

In addition to the Ertiga Hybrid, dealerships also offered promotions on other Suzuki models. The previous-generation Suzuki XL7, equipped with a conventional gasoline engine, received discounts of approximately 30 million VND. The upgraded Suzuki XL7, featuring a mild hybrid engine, will be delivered to Vietnamese customers in September.

Regarding the Suzuki Swift, the vehicles available at dealerships also belonged to the 2023 VIN. The discounts for this hatchback model ranged from 25 to 30 million VND, depending on the dealership.

Suzuki has discontinued not only the Ertiga Hybrid but also the Ciaz line in Vietnam. Previously, dealerships offered discounts of up to 95 million VND on the Suzuki Ciaz to clear inventory. After the discounts, the price of this B-segment sedan dropped to 440 million VND. However, most dealerships no longer have any units available.

The Suzuki Jimny, on the other hand, has not received any promotions from either the company or dealerships since its launch in the Vietnamese market in March 2024. This small SUV, dubbed the “mini Mercedes-Benz G-Class,” is currently priced at 789 million VND for the single-tone color version and 799 million VND for the two-tone color version. Unlike the initial phase after its launch, the Suzuki Jimny is now sold at the official price, without any additional charges or mandatory purchases at dealerships.

With the discontinuation of the Ertiga Hybrid, the XL7 Hybrid will become Suzuki’s flagship model in Vietnam. Rumors suggest that Suzuki will introduce another SUV model to the domestic market in the future, but it is unclear which one. Many predict that it will be the Suzuki Grand Vitara, a B-segment SUV currently sold in markets like India and Indonesia.

Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid has been confirmed to be discontinued in Vietnam.

After the discontinuation of the Ertiga Hybrid and Ciaz, Suzuki Vietnam is left with only three passenger car models: the XL7, Swift, and Jimny. After 2025, Suzuki’s factory in Thailand will officially close. As a result, the Suzuki Swift sold in Vietnam may be imported directly from Japan, potentially leading to a higher price.
