On August 28, 2024, MG officially unveiled the new generation of the ZS model in the UK market. This new version of the Chinese SUV has been upgraded in terms of design, features, and engine performance.

The highlight of the MG ZS 2025 is its hybrid powertrain, shared with the new MG3. The MG ZS Hybrid+ 2025 is equipped with a 1.5L naturally aspirated 4-cylinder gasoline engine that produces 75 kW (approximately 101 hp). This engine is paired with a 100 kW (136 hp) electric motor that delivers 250 Nm of torque. Together, the MG ZS Hybrid+ 2025 has a combined output of 144 kW (195 hp) and 250 Nm of peak torque.

Thanks to this hybrid system, the car can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 8.7 seconds. Notably, the MG ZS Hybrid+ is highly fuel-efficient, consuming just 4.1 liters of gasoline per 100 km (approximately 24 km/l).

The MG ZS 2025’s new engine sips fuel at just 4.1 liters per 100 km.

Similar to the MG3, the MG ZS Hybrid+ 2025 comes with front-wheel drive, a 3-speed automatic transmission, and a 1.83 kWh battery pack. In addition to the hybrid powertrain, the new MG ZS is expected to offer two other gasoline engine options. The first is a 1.5L naturally aspirated 4-cylinder engine paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The second is a 1.5L turbocharged 3-cylinder engine coupled with a 6-speed automatic transmission.

The MG ZS 2025 not only gets a new engine but also sports an impressive new look. It features a new grille with a trapezoidal pattern similar to the MG HS and the new MG3. The SUV also gets new LED headlights with a simple design, complemented by LED daytime running lights. The front bumper has been redesigned to look more robust, featuring two vertical air intakes.

On the sides, the MG ZS 2025 has a redesigned D-pillar, giving it a more stylish appearance. Depending on the trim level, the SUV will be fitted with 17-inch or 18-inch alloy wheels. Other notable exterior features include new LED taillights that wrap around the rear quarters, black body cladding, and a rear bumper with a silver skid plate, dual faux exhaust outlets, and a central rear fog light.

Other features include a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a 3-spoke steering wheel with function buttons and a flat bottom, faux metal accents around the air vents, and a new center console with a prominent “T” shaped gear selector.
