A Tesla Cybertruck fire incident occurred in Harlingen, Texas.
At around 4 pm on August 27, the driver of a Tesla Cybertruck lost control and collided with a fire hydrant on Spur 54, causing substantial damage to the undercarriage of the vehicle, where the battery pack is located.
After the collision, water from the hydrant seeped into the undercarriage, and the Tesla Cybertruck suddenly erupted into flames.
It took authorities an hour and a half and a significant amount of water to extinguish the fire completely, as the flames kept reigniting despite initial suppression efforts.
When the tow truck arrived to remove the Cybertruck, a fire engine had to follow closely to ensure the batteries didn’t reignite.
Fortunately, the driver of the Tesla Cybertruck sustained only minor injuries and is safe.
While the fire was contained, residents in the area reported that the smell of the burning batteries affected the surrounding air.
