Hyundai Unveils its Future Plans: All-Electric Santa Fe Takes Center Stage
During the highly anticipated CEO Investor Day 2024, Hyundai offered a glimpse into its future plans, with the all-electric Santa Fe taking the spotlight. Dubbed the Hyundai Santa Fe EREV, this electric vehicle boasts a unique configuration where the engine doesn’t directly power the car like in a hybrid; instead, it serves as a generator for the primary electric powertrain, comprising a battery and electric motor. What sets the Santa Fe EREV apart is its impressive maximum all-electric range of up to 900 km on a single charge.
The EREV configuration is a cost-effective approach as it requires a smaller battery compared to traditional electric vehicles.
Hyundai is expected to launch the Santa Fe EREV in 2026, adding to its growing lineup of innovative, eco-friendly cars.
In Vietnam, dealerships are already taking reservations for the new Hyundai Santa Fe, with deliveries promised for the end of September. The upcoming Santa Fe for the Vietnamese market will likely offer 3 to 4 variants, with a choice of two engines: a 2.5L gasoline engine and a 1.6L hybrid engine paired with an electric motor.
