Honda Motor is set to introduce a brand new electric motorcycle by the end of this year, following the launch of the EM1 e: and EM1 e: Plus.
In November 2022, Honda announced its plan to launch seven new electric motorcycle models in Indonesia by 2030. The roadmap includes introducing two models in 2023, two in 2024, and three more in late 2024.
Speculations suggest that this new electric motorcycle could be the commercial version of the Honda SC e: concept previously showcased at the IIMS 2024 International Auto Show, Japan Mobility Show 2023, and EICMA 2023 Motorcycle Exhibition.
Design-wise, the Honda SC e: concept boasts a scooter-like appearance with a prominent front cowl. This design element draws comparisons to Honda’s renowned LEAD model.
The front end stands out with a sleekly designed headlight, turn signal, and daytime running light assembly, seamlessly integrated into the bike’s facade.
The rear end features a graceful curve, complemented by attractive taillights. The Honda SC e: concept also offers a flat, spacious footboard and a two-tone leather seat.
While the concept version lacks a display screen, the production model is expected to feature an LCD screen capable of connecting to smartphones.
Honda has not yet disclosed the engine specifications for this model. However, they have revealed that the bike will be equipped with two removable battery packs named Mobile Power Pack. These batteries will be positioned under the seat, while the electric motor will be mounted on the rear wheel. The Honda SC e: is designed to offer both excellent mobility with the integrated battery and the flexibility of battery swapping.
