As announced, effective September 1, 2024, the prices of the Honda City and CR-V duo in the Vietnamese market have been adjusted. Notably, the Honda CR-V received the highest price reduction.

Specifically, the price of the Honda CR-V G variant was reduced by up to 80 million VND to 1.029 billion VND. For the L 2WD and L AWD versions, the listed prices were decreased by 60 million VND each. The new selling prices of these two versions are 1.099 billion VND and 1.25 billion VND, respectively. Meanwhile, the hybrid version of the Honda CR-V, the e:HEV RS, retains its original price of 1.259 billion VND.

The new listed prices of the Honda CR-V now range from 1.029 billion to 1.259 billion VND. The e:HEV RS has become the most expensive version of the Honda CR-V, surpassing the L AWD. Compared to its competitors in the same segment, such as the Mazda CX-5 (749-979 million VND), Ford Territory (799-929 million VND), and Hyundai Tucson (769-919 million VND), the Honda CR-V still carries a significantly higher price tag.

New listed price table for Honda CR-V, effective from September 1, 2024 (in VND).

In addition to the listed price reduction, the above-mentioned three versions of the Honda CR-V are also eligible for a 50% reduction in registration fees as per the government’s policy for domestically produced and assembled vehicles. This policy is valid from September 1, 2024, to November 30, 2024. As a result, customers purchasing the Honda CR-V can save an additional amount ranging from 51 million VND for the G version, 55 million VND for the L 2WD, and 62 million VND for the L AWD. This double advantage could potentially boost sales for this C-segment SUV from Honda.

In July 2024, the Honda CR-V witnessed a sales growth of 82.2%, with 574 units sold, ranking third in its segment after the Mazda CX-5 (1,044 units) and Ford Territory (737 units). For the cumulative period of the first seven months of this year, 2,912 units of the CR-V were sold, maintaining its third position in the segment.

This performance is quite impressive considering that the Honda CR-V is significantly more expensive than its competitors, the Hyundai Tucson and Mitsubishi Outlander. The attractive incentives and promotions offered by Honda over the past months have contributed to this positive sales result.

The Honda CR-V justifies its premium with its impressive design and features. It is also one of the few C-segment SUVs in the market that offers a hybrid powertrain, alongside the Haval H6. The hybrid version of the Honda CR-V has been well-received by Vietnamese customers.

In particular, the Honda CR-V e:HEV RS is equipped with a hybrid system comprising a 2.0L 4-cylinder gasoline engine producing 146 horsepower and two electric motors with a combined output of 181 horsepower. Together, the total system output stands at 204 horsepower and 335 Nm of torque.

The remaining three versions of the Honda CR-V continue to be powered by a 1.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder gasoline engine, delivering a maximum output of 188 horsepower and 240 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) and comes with either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.
