The all-new Range Rover Electric has been spotted testing on public roads without any camouflage, indicating that the SUV’s development is nearing completion and it’s almost ready for its official debut.
Even before its official launch, the all-electric Range Rover has garnered significant interest from customers. According to Land Rover, they have already received 41,000 orders for this luxury electric SUV.
Recently, Carscoops, an automotive magazine, shared spy shots that revealed the official design of the Range Rover Electric.
These images show that the exterior of the Range Rover Electric remains largely similar to its combustion engine counterpart. It retains the distinctive Range Rover grille design, but the air vents are smaller in comparison. Additionally, this electric version does not feature an exhaust system, and it sports smaller wheels, possibly to enhance the vehicle’s range.
The all-electric Range Rover will utilize the MLA platform, which accommodates combustion engines, plug-in hybrids, and battery-electric powertrains. Land Rover also mentioned that they designed and manufactured the electric motor and battery systems in-house, instead of outsourcing them like many other automakers.
Range Rover Electric is expected to offer exceptional off-road capabilities, just like its combustion-engine sibling. The British brand revealed that this new SUV can wade through water up to 850 mm deep, outperforming any luxury electric SUV currently on the market.
The Range Rover Electric will also benefit from improved traction control technology. Instead of relying on ABS, the system adjusts traction at each wheel using the electric motors, allowing for torque control with a lag time of just 1 to 100 milliseconds.
According to sources, the Range Rover Electric is likely to be introduced to the global market in the second half of 2025.
