At approximately 2:30 PM today, on August 31, 2024, a notable traffic accident occurred on Mai Chi Tho Street in Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City. This incident involved a luxury SUV, the Maserati Levante Trofeo Launch Edition.

According to initial information, at the mentioned time, the luxury SUV with unknown license plates was traveling on Mai Chi Tho Street, heading from Thu Thiem Tunnel towards An Phu Intersection. When it reached the Ca Tre Lon Bridge in An Khanh Ward, Thu Duc City, the dark green Maserati Levante Trofeo Launch Edition suddenly spun out of control and crashed into the divider.

Fortunately, no one was seriously injured in this accident. According to eyewitnesses at the scene, the vehicle was carrying two people, a man and a woman.

However, the Maserati Levante Trofeo Launch Edition was not as fortunate. The strong impact completely deformed the luxury SUV.

At the accident site, the Maserati Levante Trofeo Launch Edition’s entire front and rear sections were smashed. The car’s trunk lid was even flung onto the opposite lane, resting next to the divider. Meanwhile, the front right wheel of the vehicle was found on the sidewalk of the opposite lane. Inside the Maserati Levante Trofeo Launch Edition, all the front and side airbags had deployed, covering the interior.

The highlight of the Maserati Levante Trofeo Launch Edition lies under the hood, where it houses a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine that delivers an impressive 590 horsepower and 730 Nm of torque. This engine is also found in supercars such as the Ferrari F8 and SF90 Stradale.

The engine’s power is transmitted to the wheels through an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission, enabling the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 304 km/h.

The authorities of Thu Duc City are currently investigating and determining the cause of this accident.
