In a recent update, car enthusiasts in Vietnam were disappointed to learn that the Bugatti Chiron, Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport, and Koenigsegg Jesko would not be participating in the 2024 Gumball 3000 World Supercar Tour in their country. However, the latest news suggests that two other Bugatti Chirons, owned by Cambodian and Singaporean enthusiasts, will be joining the event at the starting line.
Specifically, these two supercars, a standard Chiron and a Chiron Super Sport, were already on the list of participants for Gumball 3000. Initially, the owners planned to greet the group at the Bavet border gate. However, due to changes in the lineup of supercars attending the world’s largest supercar event, the owners decided to bring the Chirons through the Bavet border gate and into Vietnam via the Moc Bai gate. They will then be present on Le Loi Boulevard on September 14 and 15, 2024.
This is exciting news, especially given that some expensive supercars from global enthusiasts were not expected to make it to Vietnam for Gumball 3000. These two Chirons have been standouts in the promotion of the world’s largest supercar event in Cambodia, with the Chiron Super Sport garnering particular attention.
The Chiron Super Sport is an extremely limited edition, with only 60 units produced worldwide. The one coming to Vietnam for Gumball 3000 is owned by a Singaporean enthusiast and sports Cambodian license plates with the notable number 88, featured on both the grille and the plate. The exterior of this Chiron Super Sport boasts a stunning carbon green color.
The Chiron Super Sport was born after Bugatti listened to customer complaints about the Chiron Super Sport 300+, which, despite its top speed of 490.48 km/h, lacked certain comfort and luxury features. The French supercar maker produced only 60 Chiron Super Sports globally, each priced at $3.9 million, or approximately 90 billion VND, a significant increase of $1.3 million over the standard version. However, customers were drawn to the Chiron Super Sport’s combination of power and luxurious appointments, a stark contrast to the stripped-down Chiron Super Sport 300+.
The million-dollar Bugatti Chiron Super Sport is powered by a W16 engine with a displacement of 8.0 liters and four turbochargers, generating a maximum output of 1,578 horsepower and a peak torque of 1,600 Nm. However, the top speed has been limited to 440 km/h by the manufacturer to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
