Mini Cars with Designs Copied from Luxury Brands are Sold Cheaply in Vietnam for Just 50 Million VND

The automotive industry in China has made significant strides in recent times, especially with the surge in electric vehicles. Major Chinese automotive brands such as BYD, SAIC, and Geely have found their unique identities and introduced models boasting technology and performance that rival those of American, European, and Japanese competitors. However, the market also accommodates cheap cars that blatantly imitate designs from luxury brands.

Recently, images of two minicars surfaced on Weibo, showcasing their designs copied from the Rolls-Royce Phantom and Mercedes-Maybach. The “fake” Phantom features the distinctive grille with vertical slats, accompanied by headlamps that are exact replicas in style, yet the dim green light of the bulbs indicates their inferior quality. The car even sports suicide doors, a trademark of Rolls-Royce vehicles.

The Maybach imitation also has a chrome grille with vertical slats, headlamps, and air intakes at the front that are identical in design to the original. Based on their size and fundamental features, it is evident that these two cars share the same platform.

Inside, the interiors of both cars mimic Mercedes-Benz, evident in the steering wheel design, dual-screen setup, ambient lighting, and turbine-style air vents.

Details about the powertrains of these cars are not available at the moment. The price of these vehicles is approximately 14,000 RMB each, which is equivalent to 50 million VND.
