On July 5, Toyota released an interim report regarding its safety certification scandal that affected its entire product range.
According to the Japanese automotive brand, it has concluded its investigation into fuel efficiency and emission testing for all previously produced models, including those no longer on sale, over the past decade.
The investigation revealed no additional affected models beyond the seven previously identified cases.
Prior to this, on June 3, the investigation into safety inspection fraud involving Japanese automakers uncovered irregularities in certification applications for multiple models from Toyota, Mazda, Yamaha, and Honda.

Toyota admitted to misconduct in six new vehicle tests conducted in 2014, 2015, and 2020. Affected models include the Toyota Corolla Fielder, Corolla Axio, and Yaris Cross, as well as discontinued versions of the Toyota Crown, Isis, Sienta, and Lexus RX.
Reuters previously cited an example where Toyota only tested one side of the hood for collision damage instead of both, leading to inaccurate test results.
Following the comprehensive product review, Toyota affirmed that its current vehicles are safe for customer use, and there is no need for owners to discontinue driving their vehicles.
