There’s a lot of excitement surrounding the upcoming arrival of two Bugatti Chirons, one of which is the Chiron Super Sport, in Vietnam. With Cambodian number plates, these supercars are set to participate in the Gumball 3000, the world’s largest supercar rally, and their presence is expected to amp up the excitement of the event, which will take place over two days: September 14 and 15, 2024.
But that’s not all—there’s a buzz that Cambodian enthusiasts plan to bring a total of six supercars to the event, with the already-confirmed Chiron duo and four more mysterious entries. This additional quartet of vehicles is expected to include some big names in the automotive world.
One of the six supercars expected from Cambodia is the limited-edition Lamborghini Aventador SVJ, of which only 900 were produced globally. This inclusion is a result of the owner of the megacar Koenigsegg Jesko being unable to bring their vehicle to Vietnam.
The Lamborghini Aventador SVJ is a beast, powered by a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine that produces a massive 770 horsepower, which is 70 more than the standard Aventador and 20 more than the Aventador SV. It also boasts 720 Nm of torque, an improvement of 30 Nm over other Aventador models. However, its 0-100 km/h time remains unchanged from the Lamborghini Aventador SV at 2.8 seconds, and its top speed is electronically limited to 350 km/h.
While the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ is a sure bet, the remaining three supercars are still a mystery. Based on their frequent appearances, they could be the Lamborghini Huracan STO, the new 992-generation Porsche 911 GT3 RS, or the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series. All three are owned by the same enthusiast who’s bringing the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport, so it’s anyone’s guess which other models will complete the Cambodian contingent.

The Gumball 3000 supercar rally is usually a vibrant affair, with an array of exotic machinery on display. However, the latest edition saw a more subdued fleet of McLaren 765LT coupes and spiders, with participants forgoing the usual flamboyant choices such as the Elva, Senna, and even the track-focused Senna GTR. It was a more low-key affair than fans are used to, but the event still attracted enthusiasts eager to showcase their powerful McLarens.
