The 2025 Q5 model is built on Audi’s PPC platform, offering more efficient engine options.
The Audi Q5 has been the German brand’s mainstay for over 15 years, and so Audi has spared no detail in updating the new-generation Q5, making significant improvements to its exterior and interior design while also adding more efficient engine options.
The 2025 Audi Q5 is built on the company’s Premium Platform Combustion (PPC) platform. In the United States, the 2025 Audi Q5 is offered in three variants: standard, mid-range, and a high-performance SQ5.
The standard Audi Q5 features a 2.0L engine that produces 201 horsepower and 340 Nm of torque, with front-wheel drive as standard and all-wheel drive as an option. The mid-range version uses a 2.0L 4-cylinder TFSI engine that generates 268 horsepower, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and all-wheel drive.
Lastly, the high-performance SQ5 variant is equipped with a 3.0L 6-cylinder engine that produces 362 horsepower, coupled with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and all-wheel drive.
In Europe, the 2025 Audi Q5 will be launched with three engine variants, all featuring a hybrid system with a 1.7 kWh battery and an electric motor that delivers 24 horsepower and 230 Nm of torque. Additionally, this market will also offer a 2.0-liter diesel engine with 201 horsepower and 340 Nm of torque.
Thanks to its new platform and improved suspension and steering, Audi claims that the 2025 Q5 offers significantly improved comfort compared to its predecessor. Air suspension with adaptive dampers is available as an option, and the SQ5 will feature a sportier suspension setup.
In terms of design, the 2025 Audi Q5 boasts a modern and elegant look thanks to its soft, curved lines. Among the updates to the exterior, the most notable feature is the second-generation digital OLED taillights, which can warn other vehicles of accidents and hazards by displaying custom graphics. At the front, the Q5 comes standard with Matrix LED headlights featuring 8 customizable LEDs that also serve as daytime running lights.
The interior of the 2025 Audi Q5 has been significantly revamped while still retaining the brand’s signature design language. Notably, the dashboard features a large curved screen that integrates a 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.5-inch MMI infotainment screen. The front passenger also benefits from an additional 10.9-inch screen.
The new-generation Audi Q5 comes standard with a flat-bottomed sports steering wheel that does not incorporate any physical buttons, knobs, or switches, as all functions are now controlled via the screens or voice commands. The infotainment system operates on Android Automotive OS, allowing it to easily run Google apps such as YouTube. A heads-up display is available as an option.
Audi claims that the cabin of the new Q5 is more spacious than ever. The rear seats also offer more functionality. Some other notable convenience features on the 2025 Audi Q5 include a wireless phone charging tray, two USB-C ports in the front and two for the rear seats, with the rear port providing up to 100 watts of power, sufficient for a laptop.
Audi has not yet announced the pricing for the new Q5 in the United States. According to Carscoops, the standard model is expected to start at 52,300 Euros (approximately 57,800 USD or 1.44 billion VND).
