BMW has recently left its users perplexed with its request for a monthly fee of 30 Euros (approximately 826,000 VND) to use the M Adaptive Suspension System.
Following a wave of controversies, BMW has issued a clarification. They explained that while the adaptive suspension system is available as a standard option, it can also be added to certain vehicles through the Connected Drive store in the US, but registration is not mandatory.
Customers can avail of a free one-month trial and if they wish to continue, they have the option to subscribe monthly or annually, or even purchase it outright for 500 USD (12.5 million VND). Essentially, a monthly subscription is not compulsory to utilize this feature.
In simpler terms, the M Adaptive Suspension System is an available option on the car, but users need to pay extra to unlock the software and use it.
In reality, the M Adaptive Suspension System is typically a standard feature on BMW’s high-performance models. However, for some vehicles, such as the base 3-Series, it is an optional extra within the Dynamic Handling Package, costing an additional 1,050 USD (around 26 million VND). For the base 4-Series and the Z4, customers have to shell out 1,500 USD (37.5 million VND) and 2,450 USD (61 million VND) respectively.Â
For the X1, to get the M Adaptive Suspension System as part of the M Sport package, customers need to pay an extra 2,000 USD (approximately 50 million VND). This figure rises to 2,500 USD (62.6 million VND) for the X2 and 2,750 USD (68.9 million VND) for the X5.
