Toyota has unveiled the ninth-generation Camry in Singapore, marking its entry into the Southeast Asian market. The new Camry, known as the XV80 series, showcases a sleek and modern design, improved dimensions, and a host of advanced features.

Following its global debut in North America last year, the Toyota Camry has finally arrived in Southeast Asia. The ninth-generation Camry, also known as the XV80 series, has been officially launched in Singapore, offering a unique blend of style, comfort, and performance.

In terms of dimensions, the new Camry has grown slightly compared to its predecessor. It now measures 4,920 mm in length, 1,840 mm in width, and 1,455 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,825 mm. These increased dimensions provide a more spacious cabin and luggage compartment for passengers and their belongings.

The Camry’s design is sure to turn heads, featuring a bold and contemporary look. The front end is characterized by distinctive “hammerhead shark”-inspired LED headlights, reminiscent of the Prius, while the rear showcases refined LED taillights and a stylish bumper.

In Singapore, the Toyota Camry is offered with a range of standard features, including 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights with automatic leveling, LED daytime running lights, front and rear LED fog lamps, LED rear combination lamps, electric-adjustable front seats, a head-up display, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, rain-sensing wipers, leather upholstery, three-zone automatic climate control, and a panoramic sunroof.

The infotainment system is a standout feature, boasting a 12.3-inch touchscreen display with wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto connectivity, paired with a premium JBL sound system featuring nine speakers.

Rear passengers are also treated to a host of conveniences, such as a touch-control panel integrated into the center armrest, allowing them to adjust the power-reclining seats, rear sunshade, climate control settings, and audio functions.

Under the hood, the Camry is powered by Toyota’s fifth-generation hybrid system, combining a 2.5-liter Atkinson-cycle engine with two electric motors. This setup delivers an impressive 228 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 221 Nm of torque between 3,200 and 5,200 rpm.

The hybrid system is paired with a CVT transmission, delivering a smooth and efficient driving experience. With a fuel consumption rating of 5.1L/100 km and CO2 emissions of 115 g/km, the Camry falls under the A2 category in Singapore’s Vehicle Emissions Scheme (VES).

Safety is a top priority, and the Camry delivers with eight airbags and a suite of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). These include automatic emergency braking with parking assist, adaptive cruise control, lane tracing assist, lane departure alert, and automatic high beams. Other safety features include a blind-spot monitor, a 360-degree camera, and traffic sign recognition.

Singapore buyers can choose from nine exterior colors, including Platinum White Pearl Mica, Silver Metallic, Precious Metal, Attitude Black Mica, Emotional Red 3, Previous Bronze, and Dark Blue Mica. The interior is available in three themes: Fromage, Black, and Yellow Brown.
