There’s just one week to go until the world’s largest Gumball 3000 supercar event takes place in Vietnam. Over 100 cars will be gathering on Le Loi Avenue for two days, the 14th and 15th of September 2024, and it promises to be a spectacular and prestigious automotive feast. Among the attendees will be Maximillion Cooper, the founder of the Gumball 3000 rally.
Initially, Mr. Cooper was expected to ride alongside a Youtuber in a limited-edition, million-dollar Koenigsegg Jesko—one of only 125 in the world. However, due to some procedural glitches, the Koenigsegg Jesko will not be making it to Vietnam, and thus, the Swedish supercar will not be participating in the Gumball 3000 rally.
Instead, Maximillion Cooper, the founder of the Gumball 3000 rally, will be driving a different car—a beautiful green Lamborghini Aventador LP770-4 SVJ. This switch-up has been revealed by the Gumball 3000 team, and the car is no stranger to Cambodian car enthusiasts.
Specifically, this limited-edition Lamborghini Aventador LP770-4 SVJ belongs to the owner of the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport, who will also be participating in Gumball 3000. The Lamborghini will be transported to Vietnam for the event, rather than remaining at the Bavet border gate in Cambodia to greet the Gumball 3000 participants as they cross over from Moc Bai, Tay Ninh province.
According to our sources, in addition to the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ and the Bugatti Chiron duo, Cambodian enthusiasts may also be bringing three other supercars to Vietnam: a McLaren 765LT, a Lamborghini Huracan STO, and a Porsche 911 GT3 RS (992 generation). However, this is just speculation at this point.
The Lamborghini Aventador SVJ is a limited-edition model, with 900 coupes and less than 100 roadsters produced worldwide. Additionally, Lamborghini created 63 units of the Aventador SVJ63, available as both coupes and roadsters. Currently, Vietnamese enthusiasts own three Lamborghini Aventador SVJ coupes and two roadsters.
The Lamborghini Aventador SVJ is equipped with a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine that produces 770 horsepower and 720 Nm of torque. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds and has a top speed of 350 km/h.
