Similar to its rival brands, Subaru has been consistently offering official promotions for its models since the beginning of 2024. September 2024 is no exception.
This September, Subaru is offering support with registration fees for customers purchasing the Forester model. Specifically, the 2.0 iL trim of the Subaru Forester receives a registration fee support of 50 million VND, while the 2.0 iL EyeSight trim is offered a support value of 110 million VND. Meanwhile, the top-of-the-line 2.0 iS EyeSight trim is backed by a 100% registration fee support, totaling up to 140 million VND.
Thus, Subaru Forester’s promotion program in September 2024 remains unchanged from the previous two months. The program will be applied from now until September 30, 2024. Registration fee incentives will be based on 10% of the listed price.

With incentives ranging from 50 to 140 million VND, the Subaru Forester is the model with the most attractive promotions in the C-segment SUV market in Vietnam. However, the price after the discount for this model is still quite high, ranging from 919 million to 1.059 billion VND. Compared to competitors in the same segment, such as the Mazda CX-5, Hyundai Tucson, and Ford Territory, the Subaru model is significantly more expensive.
The Vietnamese automobile market is currently entering its most vibrant phase of the year. Therefore, not only Subaru but also other brands are actively promoting their vehicles. While Honda reduced the listed price of the CR-V to a range of 1.029 – 1.259 billion VND, Ford offered a 50% registration fee discount for the Territory. Unlike the Subaru Forester, the Honda CR-V and Ford Territory also benefit from the government’s 50% registration fee support for domestically produced and assembled vehicles.
The Subaru Forester doesn’t have a pricing advantage in Vietnam because it is imported fully built from Thailand. Additionally, this C-segment SUV’s design is less appealing, so it caters to a specific niche of customers.
However, the Forester boasts advanced driver-assist technologies with its EyeSight 4.0 system, featuring a dual-camera setup, a Boxer engine, and Subaru’s signature Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive (S-AWD). It is one of the few C-segment SUVs in Vietnam equipped with standard all-wheel drive.
From 2025 onwards, the Forester, along with other Subaru models in Vietnam, will be imported directly from Japan. This change is due to the closure of Subaru’s Thai factory on December 30, 2024, which will significantly impact the pricing of Subaru vehicles in Vietnam, as they will be subject to import taxes ranging from 50% to 70%.
