On September 12, TC Group announced its sales results for August 2024. According to the report, Vietnamese consumers purchased a total of 4,679 Hyundai vehicles during the month, marking a 12.1% decrease compared to the previous month. This decline can be attributed to the influence of the seventh lunar month, traditionally considered inauspicious for purchases, as well as consumers’ anticipation of reduced registration fees.

Similar to previous months, the best-selling Hyundai model for August 2024 was the Accent. This subcompact sedan sold 937 units, a 4.8% decrease, placing it behind its rival, the Toyota Vios, in the subcompact sedan segment.

Taking second place in the Hyundai family was the Creta, with 613 units sold, a 10.6% decrease. Once again, the Hyundai Creta was unable to reclaim the top spot in the subcompact SUV segment, falling behind both the Mitsubishi Xforce and the Toyota Yaris Cross.

The third best-selling Hyundai model for August was the Santa Fe, with sales of 511 units. Notably, the sales of this mid-size SUV remained unchanged from July 2024.

Following closely was the Hyundai Tucson, with sales of 425 units, a 19% decrease. The Hyundai Stargazer trailed slightly behind, with 377 units sold, marking a significant 38.9% drop in sales.

In sixth place was the Hyundai Grand i10, a subcompact car that experienced a 22.5% decline in sales, totaling 310 units.

Meanwhile, the Hyundai Venue claimed the seventh spot with sales of 297 units, a modest 2.4% increase, making it one of the few Hyundai models to witness sales growth during the month.

The remaining Hyundai models, including the Custin, Elantra, and Palisade, recorded sales of 217, 132, and 102 units, respectively. Compared to the previous month, the Hyundai Custin saw a notable 24% increase in sales, while the Elantra and Palisade experienced minor declines of 3.6% and 2.8%, respectively.

Lastly, Hyundai’s commercial vehicles recorded a total sales figure of 758 units, a 15.4% decrease. Among these, 40 units of the Hyundai Mighty LT 2.5-ton and Solati models were exported to foreign markets.
