Rumoured Volvo EC40: All-Electric Compact SUV Heading to Vietnam
The Volvo EC40 is the rebranded C40 Recharge, with the ‘E’ prefix indicating its all-electric nature.
The Volvo EC40 is expected to be imported to Vietnam from Belgium and is predicted to be priced at approximately 2 billion VND. Its launch is anticipated for late 2024 or early 2025.
According to speculations, the Volvo EC40 will be equipped with an electric motor generating a maximum output of 238 horsepower and 420 Nm of torque. This powerplant, combined with rear-wheel drive, offers an impressive range of up to 483 kilometers on a single charge.
While it is unclear what features the Vietnam-spec model will offer, the international version of the Volvo EC40 boasts a modern cabin with amenities such as a 9-inch center touchscreen, a 600W 14-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, a hands-free power tailgate, wireless charging, dual-zone automatic climate control, front seat heating, PM2.5 air filtration, a panoramic sunroof, and interior ambient lighting.
Additionally, the Volvo EC40 comes loaded with advanced driver-assistance systems, including collision mitigation/avoidance support, pedestrian/cyclist/large animal detection, driver inattention warning, front/rear collision warning/mitigation support, lane-keeping aid with road-edge detection, blind-spot monitoring with steering assist, and cross-traffic alert with brake support.
The Volvo EC40 is positioned in the compact electric SUV segment and currently has no direct competitors in Vietnam, giving it a unique advantage to capture the attention of prospective customers.
