There are some intriguing adjustments to the list of Ferrari supercars participating in the Gumball 3000 2024 rally, organized by Mr. Dang Le Nguyen Vu, Chairman of Trung Nguyen. Initially, the Ferrari F355 Spider was not expected to be part of the lineup, but recent images suggest that this model has been added to the final roster.
This addition is particularly exciting as it expands the range of Ferrari models in the Gumball 3000 beyond the previously revealed 360, 430, 458, 488, 599, F12, and Roma. Mr. Vu’s garage also includes the California model, but it remains unclear if there will be any last-minute changes to the list. If all goes as planned, Trung Nguyen will showcase all their Ferrari models with Vietnamese license plates at this prestigious global supercar event.
The one-of-a-kind Ferrari F355 Spider convertible in Vietnam has had only three owners, all of whom are renowned collectors with a passion for Ferrari vehicles. However, Mr. Dang Le Nguyen Vu stands out for his unwavering enthusiasm, having spent nearly VND 250 billion in the last three years to acquire nearly 40 Ferrari models, a staggering amount that surprises even seasoned car enthusiasts.
Originally red, the Ferrari F355 Spider has been repainted black and adorned with a white double stripe on the hood for a striking appearance. Mr. Vu seems to favor this new black theme for his Ferrari collection, as evidenced by the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta, Ferrari 458 Italia, and Ferrari 488 GTB, which have all been repainted or wrapped in glossy black.
The black paint job on the Ferrari F355 Spider diminishes the visual impact of carbon fiber details and the black fabric top. Instead, the silver five-spoke wheels provide a striking contrast, making this unique convertible stand out.
Designed by Pininfarina, the Ferrari F355 Spider debuted in 1995 and was initially offered with a six-speed manual transmission. In 1997, Ferrari introduced the F1 transmission option for this supercar. During its production run, a total of 3,717 units of the Ferrari F355 Spider were manufactured, including 2,664 with the six-speed manual and 1,053 with the F1 transmission.
Under the hood, the Ferrari F355 Spider boasts a 3.5-liter V8 engine that delivers 375 horsepower at 8,250 rpm and 363 Nm of peak torque at 6,000 rpm. This powerful convertible accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds and has a top speed of 295 km/h.
