Vingroup Group and its ecosystem companies announce a donation of 250 billion VND to support communities affected by Super Typhoon Yagi and prolonged floods.

The funds will be allocated directly to emergency relief efforts, including rebuilding approximately 2,000 collapsed homes, providing support of 150 – 300 million VND to families who have lost loved ones, and contributing to the reconstruction of infrastructure and civil works… to help people quickly stabilize their lives after the natural disaster.

With the spirit of “no one in Vingroup is untouched by the loss and suffering of our fellow citizens,” immediately after Super Typhoon Yagi and the floods swept through several northern provinces causing severe damage, Vingroup Group and its ecosystem companies promptly arranged 250 billion VND for an emergency relief fund for the victims.

The budget comes from two sources: funds from the Group and its member companies, and voluntary contributions from more than 130,000 Vingroup employees across the system.

Depending on the actual situation, the emergency relief fund will be used to rebuild approximately 2,000 homes for families who have lost their homes in the recent storm and floods, providing support of 150 – 300 million VND to each family who has lost a member due to the natural disaster. The remaining amount will be used to support families with injured members or those who have suffered severe crop and livestock losses, as well as for clean-up efforts, contributing to the reconstruction of important infrastructure and facilities for civil life.

Immediately after its establishment, the Thien Tam Fund (under the Group) formed a rapid response team, directly reaching out to each affected locality to coordinate and implement support plans for the people. Families whose homes have completely collapsed or have lost members (especially the main breadwinners) will receive special priority in support. In addition to direct implementation, the Thien Tam Fund also collaborates with media units to spread the message of support and resources to the communities as soon as possible.

In addition to the 250 billion VND in emergency support, Vingroup Group also calls on all employees across the system to dedicate their days off to join the Thien Tam Fund in directly participating in relief activities for the affected communities.

Apart from the Group’s efforts, companies within the Vingroup ecosystem have also proactively engaged in relief activities for the affected communities since the early days of the storm and floods.

As one of the leading private enterprises in Vietnam, Vingroup always takes the initiative and pioneers in standing side by side with the community to overcome difficulties and challenges, such as responding to the COVID-19 pandemic, providing disaster relief, supporting education, offering free medical examinations and treatment, and assisting with livelihood for the poor…
