According to some sources, BYD is set to introduce another model to the Vietnamese market, in addition to the Seal, Dolphin, and Atto 3 trio.

Dealerships of BYD have started taking reservations for a brand new all-electric MPV called the BYD M6. The vehicle is expected to be imported from China in a single variant.

It’s unclear what the pricing will be for the Vietnamese market, but in Thailand, the BYD M6 starts at 829,000 Baht (approximately 603 million VND).

The BYD M6 is based on the Song Max line and is known as the Song Max EV in China. It boasts dimensions of 4,710 x 1,810 x 1,690 mm in length, width, and height, respectively, with a wheelbase of 2,800 mm.

As an electric vehicle, the BYD M6 forgoes a traditional grille and instead features a closed-off grille with a silver accent connecting the headlights.

The rear of the vehicle sports large taillights connected by a chrome bar and a sleekly designed bumper, giving the M6 a modern and youthful appearance.

In terms of interior, the BYD M6 offers two seating configurations: 6-seater (2+2+2) and 7-seater (2+3+2). The rear seats can be folded down to create a spacious 580-liter cargo area.

The BYD M6 comes loaded with features such as a 3-spoke multifunction steering wheel, leather upholstery with power adjustment, a 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control with PM2.5 air filtration, electronic gearshift, ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof with UV-blocking shade, and an electric tailgate.

Under the hood, the BYD M6 in Vietnam is likely to be powered by an electric motor producing 163 horsepower and 310 Nm of torque. Coupled with a 55.4 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, the M6 offers an impressive range of up to 420 kilometers on a single charge.

Additionally, the M6 supports both slow AC charging at 7 kW and fast DC charging at 115 kW, enabling a quick recharge from 10% to 80% in just 40 minutes.

In terms of safety, the BYD M6 is equipped with a host of driver-assistance features, including hill start assist, electronic stability control, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, a 360-degree camera system, six airbags, forward and rear collision warning, and lane-keeping assist, to name a few.
