The Gumball 3000 supercar event is a global spectacle, attracting automotive enthusiasts worldwide. Considered the world’s greatest car rally, participants pay a hefty fee of 2.5 billion VND and embark on a thrilling 3,000-mile journey. It’s no surprise that only the most reliable vehicles are chosen as companions for this extraordinary adventure.
While previous iterations of the event boasted an impressive lineup of hypercars and megacars, the 25th anniversary of Gumball 3000 saw a smaller gathering. The reason lies in the less-than-ideal road conditions in the ASEAN countries, which pose a significant challenge for the powerful Bugattis, Paganis, and Koenigseggs. Despite this, the participant list for Gumball 3000 2024 still included a diverse range of supercars and sports cars, with one notable addition—the Aston Martin DB12.
In the absence of the exclusive One-77 and the breathtaking V12 Speedster, the DB12 flies the flag for Aston Martin at Gumball 3000.

There had been hopes that someone would bring the One-77, V12 Speedster, or even the Valhalla to represent Aston Martin at this year’s event. However, the DB12, a more commonplace sports car, was the sole representative from the prestigious brand.
The Aston Martin DB12, a celebration of the brand’s 110th anniversary, is an enhanced version of the DB11, released in 2016. It boasts a redesigned front bumper and a larger grille, complemented by striking air vents and distinctive LED headlights. The interior has been refined, and a new infotainment system supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Standard equipment includes an 11-speaker audio system, with the option to upgrade to a premium 15-speaker Bowers & Wilkins setup. Additionally, customers can choose from Sports Plus seats, Carbon Fiber Performance seats, and trim options that include aluminum, wood, or carbon fiber.
Under the hood, the DB12 is equipped with a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine, delivering an impressive 671 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque. This significant performance upgrade is achieved through optimized compression, larger turbochargers, and improved cooling. As a result, the DB12 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 325 km/h. Unfortunately, the previous DB11’s 5.2-liter V12 engine is no longer offered alongside the V8.
