The all-new 2024 Kia Carnival is set to launch in Vietnam tomorrow, September 15th, with dealerships already taking reservations for this highly anticipated model.
According to dealership sources, the 2024 Kia Carnival will no longer offer the previous 3.5L gasoline engine option. Instead, it will be powered by two distinct engine choices.
The first is a Smartstream CRDi 4-cylinder, DOHC, 2.2L diesel engine that delivers 199 horsepower and a peak torque of 441 Nm, similar to its predecessor. This engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive.
The second option is a hybrid powertrain that combines a 1.6L turbocharged 4-cylinder gasoline engine with an electric motor and a 6-speed automatic transmission, resulting in a combined output of 245 horsepower and 366 Nm of torque. Impressively, the manufacturer-stated fuel economy stands at 13.5 km/l (7.4 l/100 km).
In addition to the new powertrain options, the 2024 Kia Carnival also boasts significant changes to its exterior design and equipment offerings.
The front of the vehicle showcases Kia’s distinctive “tiger nose” grille, now accented with a chrome surround. The new vertical LED headlights feature a stylish, stylized T-shaped daytime running light signature. Fog lights are positioned on either side of the central air intake, alongside electric sliding doors and a redesigned rear bumper.
At the rear, the standout feature is the 3D Starmap LED taillights that stretch across the width of the vehicle and continue downward onto the redesigned rear bumper. The overall design of the rear end, including the taillights and trunk lid, has been modified for a more harmonious appearance.
Step inside the Kia Carnival 2024, and you’ll be greeted by a modern and sophisticated cabin, akin to its EV6 and EV9 siblings. The vehicle is expected to retain the previous generation’s 7-seat and 8-seat configurations.
In international markets, the Carnival is equipped with a 12.3-inch central infotainment screen and a matching 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, creating a seamless dual-screen setup. Additionally, it offers a head-up display (HUD) for easy access to key driving information.
The climate control panel has been redesigned for improved ergonomics and ease of use. The gear selector has also been updated to a rotary dial design. Other notable features include a trip computer, smart key, and digital rearview mirror. The ergonomic seats are upholstered in premium leather and offer heating, cooling, and massage functions. The interior showcases a tasteful two-tone color scheme, exuding refinement and luxury.
When it comes to safety, the Carnival 2024 introduces the Highway Driving Assistance 2 system, which provides semi-autonomous driving capabilities by maintaining a safe distance from other vehicles, adhering to preset speeds, and keeping the vehicle within its lane. This next-generation model also includes a lane change function, enhancing the overall driving experience.
While the pricing for the Kia Carnival 2024 has not yet been disclosed, it is anticipated to reflect a slight increase compared to its predecessor due to the extensive array of modern features and enhancements.
