While most of the models in the Top 10 best-selling vehicles in the market experienced a decline in sales, the Mitsubishi Xforce witnessed a remarkable growth of 43.2%, retaining its top position.

According to reports from the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (VAMA) and Hyundai Thanh Cong (TC Motor), Vietnam’s automobile market sales in August 2024 slowed down compared to the previous month. This is understandable due to customers’ superstition about the ghost month and their wait-and-see attitude regarding the registration fee support policy.

Here are the top 10 best-selling vehicles in August 2024:

Mitsubishi Xforce: 2,504 units sold

In August, while most vehicles in the Top 10 best-selling vehicles in the market experienced a decline in sales, the Mitsubishi Xforce continued to grow impressively, selling 756 more units, a 43.2% increase, for a total of 2,504 vehicles sold. This result solidified Xforce’s position as Vietnam’s best-selling vehicle in August, bringing its year-to-date sales to 8,142 units.

Currently, the vehicle is imported from Indonesia to Vietnam in 4 versions: GLX, Exceed, Premium, and Ultimate, with prices ranging from VND 599 million to VND 705 million.

VinFast VF5 Plus: 2,200 units sold

Although VinFast did not disclose sales figures, according to some sources, nearly 2,200 VF 5 units were delivered to consumers in August. This figure represents an 18% decrease compared to July, pushing the Vietnamese brand’s electric vehicle line to second place in the Top 10 best-selling vehicles.

Ford Ranger: 1,274 units sold

Ford Ranger sold 1,274 units in August, a slight decrease of 0.1% compared to July. This result propelled Ford Ranger from fifth to third place in the rankings. Cumulative sales for the first eight months of the year for the Ranger stand at 10,293 units.

Currently, the Ford Ranger is distributed in Vietnam in 7 versions, with prices ranging from VND 665 million to VND 1.039 billion.

Mazda CX-5: 1,070 units sold

In the Top 10 best-selling vehicles in the market in August 2024, the Mazda CX-5 was one of the few models, along with the Mitsubishi Xforce, to record sales growth. Specifically, in August, Mazda delivered 1,070 CX-5 vehicles to customers, a slight increase of 2.4% (26 units) compared to the previous month, ranking fourth in the list. Cumulative sales of the Mazda CX-5 for the first eight months of 2024 reached 7,384 units.

Currently, the Mazda CX-5 is priced between VND 749 million and VND 979 million.

Toyota Vios: 1,010 units sold

Ranking fifth in the market in terms of sales was the Toyota Vios, with 1,010 units sold, a significant decrease of 42.1%, equivalent to 735 units. Despite this drop, the Toyota Vios remained the best-selling sedan in the B segment in the Vietnamese market in August.

Cumulative sales of the Toyota Vios for the first eight months of 2024 reached 6,970 units. Currently, the Toyota Vios is sold in Vietnam in 3 versions, with prices ranging from VND 458 million to VND 545 million.

Mitsubishi Xpander: 1,003 units sold

The sixth position in the Top 10 best-selling vehicles in August belonged to the Mitsubishi Xpander, with 1,003 units delivered to customers. This result caused the Mitsubishi Xpander to drop three places compared to July, recording a decrease of 32.7%, equivalent to 489 units. Cumulative sales for the first eight months reached 10,268 units for the Xpander.

Currently, the Mitsubishi Xpander is distributed in Vietnam in 4 versions: MT, AT, AT Premium, and Xpander Cross, with listed prices ranging from VND 560 million to VND 698 million.

Hyundai Accent: 937 units sold

Ranking seventh in the top 10 best-selling vehicles for the month was the Hyundai Accent, with sales of 937 units, a decrease of 4.8%, equivalent to 48 units, compared to the previous month. Cumulative sales for the first eight months reached 6,910 Hyundai Accent units delivered to customers.

Currently, the Hyundai Accent is sold in 4 versions, with prices ranging from VND 439 million to VND 569 million.

Toyota Yaris Cross: 927 units sold

At the end of August, the Toyota Yaris Cross recorded sales of 27 units, a decrease of 25.3%, equivalent to 315 units, compared to July 2024. Cumulative sales for the first eight months of the year totaled 5,973 Toyota Yaris Cross units sold.

Currently, the Toyota Yaris Cross is distributed in Vietnam in 2 versions, with prices ranging from VND 650 million to VND 765 million.

Ford Everest: 812 units sold

Ford Everest sales in August reached 812 units, a decrease of 14.6%, equivalent to 139 units, compared to July 2024. In total, Ford Vietnam sold 6,205 Everest units in the first eight months of 2024.

Currently, the Everest is distributed in Vietnam in 6 versions, with prices ranging from VND 1.099 billion to VND 1.545 billion.

Hyundai Creta: 613 units sold

After being absent for two months, the Hyundai Creta has returned to the Top 10 best-selling vehicles in Vietnam in August 2024, with 613 units sold, a decrease of 10.6%, equivalent to 73 units, compared to July 2024. This result is attributed to TC Motor’s Creta price reduction policy and dealer incentives. Cumulative sales for the first eight months reached 4,113 Hyundai Creta units delivered to customers.

Hyundai Creta is currently assembled by TC Motor at its Ninh Binh plant in 3 versions, priced from VND 599 million to VND 699 million.
