At 10 am on September 14, 2024, the 25th Gumball 3000 supercar journey officially commenced, with the first location being Vietnam. The cars assembled at a warehouse in the Song Than 2 Industrial Park in Binh Duong province and proceeded to Le Loi Boulevard in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, following two routes.
Apart from the supercars transported by towing services, numerous impressive supercars were driven by their owners. One of them was the Koenigsegg Regera “Honey” edition, owned by an American enthusiast nicknamed Dan_am_i. The full display of over 100 cars is expected to be presented by the Gumball 3000 2024 team later in the evening.
The owner of the Koenigsegg Regera “Honey” edition is a well-known American collector, Dan_am_i, famed for his collection of over 100 cars, a third of which are hypercars and megacars. He is also an avid fan of Pagani, owning more than eight of their models. However, for the Gumball 3000 2024 journey, he chose the Koenigsegg Regera as his companion.
Initially, the Koenigsegg Regera was transported by a towing vehicle, but due to the enthusiasm of the participants who wanted to experience driving supercars and sports cars on Vietnamese roads, the organizers divided them into groups for easier movement. Surprisingly, the first group featured the appearance of the Koenigsegg Regera “Honey” edition.
The reason for the Regera’s appearance is that it is a unique edition, customized by Koenigsegg specifically for this enthusiast. It features three personalized details: firstly, the car’s paint job includes a layer of crushed diamond dust over the carbon fiber body, creating a sparkling effect in the sunlight. Secondly, this is the only Koenigsegg Regera “Honey” edition that will ever exist. Lastly, scanning the NFT code of the Honey logo will take you to a video of the Swedish car company’s founder introducing the car, along with an exclusive song called “Honey,” performed by his son, Christian von Koenigsegg.
