After over three hours of heavy rain, the sun finally emerged in Ho Chi Minh City, creating the perfect setting for the 25th Gumball 3000 supercar rally to commence its first leg from Vietnam to Cambodia.
It was almost noon when the first car of the 2024 Gumball 3000 rally rolled out from the starting gate of the world’s largest supercar event, marking the end of Gumball 3000’s stay in Vietnam after a two-day spectacle and three weeks of gathering an impressive fleet of supercars in the country.
The famous streamer, IshowSpeed, had the honor of flagging off the world’s largest supercar rally. This was followed by a colorful smoke bomb display, an integral part of the event. A stunning Ferrari 296 GTB with a unique livery took the lead as the first car of the Gumball 3000 2024 participants to leave the starting gate. It was followed closely by a Porsche 911 GT3 RS (992 generation).
Dozens of supercars, luxury sedans, and SUVs joined the procession, with the Pagani Huayra BC Roadster being a standout attraction. As it exited the Gumball 3000 starting area, the crowd burst into applause, celebrating the presence of one of only 40 such supercars produced globally, right there in Vietnam.
The Rolls-Royce Cullinan from Team 01, bearing the number 01 on its license plate, and the Porsche 911 GT2 RS added to the festive atmosphere with their own colorful smoke bombs.
The well-known businessman, D.Kang, thrilled the crowd by opening the roof of his million-dollar Koenigsegg Regera nicknamed “Honey” to fully immerse himself in the celebratory atmosphere of the 25th Gumball 3000 supercar rally. The audience responded with enthusiastic cheers and applause.
The Gumball 3000 2024 fleet will make its way to the Cu Chi Tunnels later today for a visit. Thereafter, the convoy will head towards the Moc Bai border gate in Tay Ninh province this afternoon. They will then cross over to Cambodia, where the participants eagerly anticipate setting a new record for the largest gathering of supercars on such an expedition.
