Honda Vietnam has unveiled the SH 160i, a surprising new addition to their lineup. The Japanese automaker has revealed that this will be the new name for the SH 150i, with a few notable differences.

Aside from the name change, the SH 160i features distinct color combinations and decal designs compared to its predecessor. The Special and Sport editions showcase the most significant changes, boasting a striking red/black decal strip on the front apron and red rear shock absorbers instead of the standard black ones found on the lower-tier models.

Under the seat, the SH 160i retains the single-cylinder engine with a capacity of 156.9 cc, delivering 16.6 horsepower at 8,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 14.8 Nm at 6,500 rpm.

The SH 160i offers a unique color scheme and pricing compared to the SH 150i.

Interestingly, the SH 160i is priced higher than the SH 150i despite no apparent upgrades in features. Specifically, the Standard version starts at 91.79 million VND, while the Premium model goes for 99.79 million VND. The Special and Sport editions are priced at 100.99 million VND and 101.49 million VND, respectively.

Previously, the SH 150i was offered at a suggested retail price ranging from 90.29 to 99.99 million VND. This means the SH 160i carries a premium of 1.5 million VND over its predecessor. The name change is seen as a strategic move to attract customers amidst the growing competition in the large-sized scooter segment in Vietnam.

In addition to the SH 160i, Honda Vietnam has also introduced two new editions of the SH 125i – the Special and Sport versions. Pricing for the SH 125i starts at 73 million VND for the Standard model and goes up to 84.49 million VND for the Sport edition.

For those eager to get their hands on the new SH 160i or the latest SH 125i models, the wait is almost over. These scooters will be available in Vietnam starting December 22nd. Honda Vietnam is also expected to launch a new scooter on the same day, likely to be the highly anticipated Vario 160.
