As the Gumball 3000 world tour enters its 25th edition and Day 3, one car that has been attracting a lot of attention is the Koenigsegg Regera “Honey,” owned by the famous car enthusiast, D.Kang, also known as Dan-am-i on social media.
For those unfamiliar with Dan-am-i, he is an American car enthusiast with a garage full of hundreds of powerful cars, a third of which are megacars and hypercars. At the 2024 Gumball 3000 event, D.Kang brought his stunning Koenigsegg Regera “Honey.”
Koenigsegg Regera is no stranger to car enthusiasts in Vietnam, with one already owned by the famous collector, Hoang Kim Khanh. However, D.Kang’s megacar is truly one of a kind, bearing the unique name, Koenigsegg Regera “Honey.”
Firstly, D.Kang opted for the expensive Ghost Package for his Regera, which includes a front bumper and carbon fiber side fins, adding to the car’s aggressive look. This package increases the price of the megacar from $1.9 million to $2.1 million.
However, around 30 out of the total 80 Koenigsegg Regeras are estimated to have this optional package. So, D.Kang took it two steps further by personalizing his Regera with two exclusive touches.
Firstly, the car’s naked carbon fiber exterior is coated with a layer of crushed diamonds, creating a stunning sparkle in the sunlight. This is a rare instance of Koenigsegg adorning one of their supercars with diamonds.
Secondly, the logo on the Koenigsegg Regera Honey is not just decorative. It integrates an NFT code that, when scanned, plays a video of Christian Erland Harald von Koenigsegg, the founder and CEO of Koenigsegg Automotive, introducing the car, with background music composed and sung by his son, titled “Honey.”
The powertrain of D.Kang’s unique Regera remains unchanged from Hoang Kim Khanh’s, featuring a hybrid system with a V8, biturbo, 5.0-liter gasoline engine, and three electric motors. This Swedish supercar boasts over 1,500 horsepower and 2,000 Nm of torque.
This stunning Koenigsegg Regera, owned by Dan_am_i, can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 400 km/h. At 250 km/h, the Regera can generate 450 kg of downforce.
D.Kang often drives with the roof down on his million-dollar Koenigsegg Regera Honey during the Gumball 3000 journey from Ho Chi Minh City to Cambodia, only putting the roof up when it rains.
