Vietnamese startup Nuen Moto has recently started taking deposits for their electric motorcycle, the NS-1.
The Nuen N1-S will be offered in two versions: the Founder’s Edition and the Signature Edition. The Founder’s Edition is a limited-edition premium model, with only 50 units produced. The respective prices for these editions are VND 180 million and VND 220 million, considered much higher than the average electric motorcycle in the market.
According to Nuen Moto, the N1-S is the first “high-performance electric motorcycle” launched in Vietnam.
Nuen N1-S sports an urban scrambler style with a compact yet rugged off-road-inspired design. Its dimensions are larger than a typical motorcycle, measuring 2,070 mm in length, a wheelbase of 1,450 mm, a ground clearance of 175 mm, and weighing in at 165 kg.
The Nuen N1-S is fitted with 120/70 front tires on 17-inch wheels and 180/55 rear tires, also on 17-inch wheels. These specifications are on par with the Honda CB650R and Yamaha XSR700.
The Nuen N1-S features upside-down front forks and a monoshock rear suspension. The high-end Founder’s Edition is equipped with Ohlins suspension and Brembo brakes, both front and rear.
Powering the Nuen N1-S is an electric motor capable of delivering 32 horsepower and a substantial 190 Nm of torque. The motor is paired with an 8 kWh battery pack. Nuen Moto claims that the battery pack is “one of the safest designs in its segment,” protected by a 5-layer safety standard encompassing thermal, mechanical, electrical, electronic, and software safeguards, along with a sensor system.
The pre-production prototype boasts an impressive range of up to 200 km per charge, with an average speed of 50 km/h and a top speed of 130 km/h.
Nuen N1-S supports fast charging, taking just 40 minutes to charge from 0% to 80% (or 60 minutes for a full charge) using a 3-phase DC power source from the company’s charging stations. Charging from a domestic 220V power source takes 3 hours to reach 80% (or 4.5 hours for a full charge) from empty.
Nuen N1-S incorporates safety technologies such as dual-channel ABS and regenerative braking. It also includes a reverse function, cruise control, and is IP67 rated for water resistance, allowing it to operate in up to 50 cm of water for 30 minutes.
