Two Limited-Edition Off-Road Huracan Models Steal the Show at Gumball 3000 2024
After over half a year of preparation, the world-class supercar event Gumball 3000 kicked off in Ho Chi Minh City on September 14. This is the first time the world’s largest supercar rally has been held in Southeast Asia, passing through 5 countries: Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore. This year’s event also marks the 25th anniversary of Gumball 3000’s establishment (1999 – 2024).
The event featured a plethora of Lamborghini Huracan supercars, with the most notable being the Lamborghini Huracan STO owned by male streamer IshowSpeed. Additionally, 3 Huracan Sterrato vehicles from Teams 36, 39, and 77 also attracted special attention from car enthusiasts, as they are off-road versions limited to only 1,499 units.
The Huracan Sterrato, the final iteration of the Huracan line, was introduced in 2022 and is the last Lamborghini to feature a naturally aspirated V10 engine. This supercar not only boasts impressive power and speed but also excels in off-road capabilities thanks to its upgraded equipment and chassis.
Specifically, to enhance the car’s maneuverability, the Italian supercar maker raised the ground clearance by 44 mm and equipped it with a longer-travel suspension system. The car also features Bridgestone Dueler All Terrain tires with run-flat technology, enabling it to travel at speeds of up to 80 km/h even with a loss of pressure.
The exterior of the Huracan Sterrato showcases several off-road-inspired design elements. The front area features an impressive design language, highlighted by auxiliary lighting placed at the front end. The two air intakes resemble those found on the Huracan EVO RWD, instead of the Huracan Performante seen on the concept model. Similar designs from the Huracan EVO RWD are also present at the rear of the Sterrato, although the diffuser has been tweaked for off-road purposes.
This supercar is built on a carbon fiber and aluminum alloy chassis, with a body made from aluminum alloy and lightweight composite materials.
The Huracan Sterrato is powered by a 5.2-liter V10 engine that produces 602 horsepower at 8,000 rpm and 565 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm. It is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and a Haldex all-wheel-drive system.
This supercar can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.4 seconds, slightly slower than other Huracan models. The top speed of this version is limited to 260 km/h, while other members of the Huracan family boast top speeds of up to 322 km/h.
