On September 18, 2024, the joint venture between Thanh Cong Group and Hyundai Motor officially introduced the all-new Santa Fe SUV.
The car is distributed in 5 different versions with a suggested retail price from VND 1,069 billion (including VAT).
In 2014, the Hyundai Santa Fe 3rd generation was officially produced and distributed in Vietnam. This is also the first time that Thanh Cong Group applied a fully automatic robot welding line at Hyundai Thanh Cong Ninh Binh factory, along with a global quality control process, bringing “made in Vietnam” Santa Fe quality along with high stability after many years of use. The 4th generation of Santa Fe was introduced in January 2019 and immediately received great favor and high appreciation from customers. Up to now, this generation has achieved a cumulative sales volume of over 53,000 units, becoming the leading model in the D-SUV segment in the Vietnamese market.
The success of the previous generations has created no small pressure for a completely new Hyundai Santa Fe. And beyond expectations and imagination, the All-New Santa Fe was officially introduced in the US in November 2023, surprising the global media and creating a craving for any customer. And immediately after its launch, the 5th generation Santa Fe won prestigious international awards, such as the Red Dot Award 2024 design award and the iF Design Award 2024.
To continue the leading position, Hyundai Thanh Cong Auto Joint Venture has officially introduced the 5th generation Santa Fe assembled in Vietnam. And with unprecedented breakthroughs, the all-new Santa Fe will surely bring truly special experiences to domestic customers.
Characteristic exterior design in the form of a boxy box
The new generation Santa Fe has an exterior design style in the form of a boxy boxy SUV, with a high-positioned lighting cluster and hood, creating a strong and sporty overall feel. The highlight of the front of the car is the Adaptive LED lighting cluster (AHB-LED) that automatically adapts, along with the daytime running lights in the shape of the letter H. In addition, the grille is inspired by the Hyundai logo in a flat 2D form, creating a bold and unique overall design. The grille of the car is equipped with AAF (Active Air Flap) intelligent automatic opening and closing function depending on the operating modes to optimize the air resistance coefficient while still ensuring engine cooling and brake system. Specifically, the air resistance coefficient of this 5th generation is 0.298Cd (equal to that of a sedan) while the previous generation is 0.33Cd.
All New Santa Fe continues to use the global N-Platform chassis system, bringing a huge, powerful and luxurious stature. Specifically, the car has dimensions of 4,830 x 1,900 x 1,780 (mm) in length x width x height, which is 45mm longer and 50mm higher than the previous generation. The wheelbase of the car is also increased by 50mm to 2,815mm, providing a more spacious space for the 2nd row of seats.
The all-new Santa Fe also becomes more sturdy and angular thanks to the protruding wheel arches, square shape. The body design is simple and flat, suitable for a large-size SUV as well as optimizing the interior space. The rear of the car continues to use LED technology with H-shaped taillights synchronized with the front light cluster, increasing recognizability when moving. The rear of the car has a flat design that harmonizes with the overall boxy design of the car, as well as increasing convenience with an electric trunk.
All New Santa Fe has 3 rim options with sizes of 18, 20 and 21 inches with corresponding tire parameters of 235/60 R18, 255/45 R20, 245/45 R21. The Caligraphy version is equipped with a 21-inch multi-spoke rim that looks beautiful, while the remaining versions use 18 and 20-inch rims with a sturdy design with large spokes. The car is equipped with a roof rack with a maximum load capacity of 100kg, as well as creating a more rugged and sporty look for the Santa Fe. In addition, the car has a hidden handle on the C-pillar to make it easier for users to climb up to install or remove items on the roof of the car.
Interior upgraded to luxury and class
The interior design inspiration is modeled on a giant letter H with intersecting horizontal and vertical lines, bringing elegance to the entire space. The interior design principle HMI (Human Machine Interface) is applied and raised to a new level, helping Santa Fe own a luxurious and convenient interior space but still fully intuitive and easy to use in the segment.
The highlight of the front row space is the information screen cluster and the 12.3-inch touch entertainment screen connected together. This screen cluster is oriented towards the driver, making it easier for the driver to observe and use while driving. The entertainment screen supports Android Auto/Apple Carplay wireless, satellite navigation map integrated with W3W (What 3 Word) technology with absolute accuracy dedicated to the Vietnamese market. Similar to the previous version, the screen supports displaying a 360-degree SVM camera, supporting the driver better when parking or moving on narrow and crowded roads. In addition, the 12-speaker Bose system along with a separate amplifier supports high-quality audio decoding, bringing a Hi-end experience right in the car.
The central instrument cluster is a 12.3-inch full digital screen. Depending on the driving mode, this cluster can display in different colors, while integrating the BVM blind spot monitoring function to help the driver observe better. In front of the instrument cluster is the HUD (Head Up Display) information display on the windshield, displaying detailed information such as current speed, speed limit, warnings, navigation…
The gear lever of the car is integrated behind the steering wheel, in the form of a rotating knob, helping to release space and connect between the driver’s seat and the passenger seat. The air-conditioning control cluster uses a 6.6-inch touch screen that is intuitive and comes with 2 control knobs for easy operation by the driver.
Other equipment includes electric seat adjustment and memory for 2 driver’s seat positions, steering wheel heating, seat heating and ventilation for the front row, shift paddles, automatic wipers, automatic anti-fog and anti-water deposition on the front glass, electronic parking brake EPB, Auto Hold automatic brake hold…
High-class utilities – Environmentally friendly materials
All New Santa Fe is equipped with high-class leather seats, while the Caligraphy version uses Nappa leather. Santa Fe is also a pioneer in the segment when using many recycled, environmentally friendly and safe materials for users at positions with soft surfaces in contact with passengers. The car is equipped with ambient decorative lights that change color according to the preferences and moods of the owner.
The car is still equipped with buttons to adjust the 2nd and 3rd rows of seats. The air conditioner in the car is a 2-zone independent automatic air conditioner for the front row, the 2nd row of seats can independently adjust the wind speed. The 3rd row of seats is equipped with a separate air duct to help passengers adjust the wind speed without having to depend on the main air conditioning system. The Caligraphy version is equipped with a 2nd row of independent electric seats, increasing the high-class convenience for passengers as well as the owner of the car.
All New Santa Fe is equipped with a multi-purpose storage compartment in the armrest tray that can be flexibly opened and closed for both the upper and lower rows of seats, helping to increase the comfort of the passengers. The car is equipped with a double sunroof for the first and second rows to optimize the space as well as the purpose of use of the two rows of seats.
In this generation, Santa Fe is equipped with a digital rearview mirror (on the Caligraphy version). This is a pioneering equipment in the segment. The system includes a separate wide-angle camera and transmits high-quality rearview image information to the rearview mirror with low latency. The system helps the driver to observe more easily behind, especially when the space in the 2nd and 3rd rows of seats is blocked. In case you do not want to use this function, the driver can switch to a conventional optical mirror through a button on the mirror.
The car supports dual wireless charging standard Qi with a maximum capacity of 15W. The fast charging port on the car is USB Type-C standard with a maximum capacity of 27W. Santa Fe is the first car in the segment to be equipped with a UV-sterilized document compartment, helping to kill more than 99% of harmful bacteria, ensuring the health of the user.
Equipped with a completely new generation of SmartStream engines
Santa Fe 5th generation is equipped with a completely new generation of Hyundai Smartstream engines. This is a generation of engines that apply new materials, helping to reduce weight, lower the center of gravity, increase durability and be environmentally friendly.
Smartstream Theta III 2.5L gasoline engine (code G4KN) uses direct GDI gasoline injection technology for a maximum capacity of 194 horsepower at 6,100 rpm and maximum torque of 246Nm at 4,000 rpm. The engine operates at a compression ratio of 13:1, providing better fuel combustion efficiency and thermal efficiency than the old engine generation. The version using this engine comes with an 8-speed automatic transmission for smooth and fuel-efficient operation.
2.5L Turbo gasoline engine (code G4KP) with direct GDI gasoline injection technology combined with turbocharging for a maximum capacity of 281 horsepower at 5,800 rpm and maximum torque of 422Nm at 1,700 – 4,000 rpm. Accompanying this engine is a completely new 8-speed wet dual-clutch automatic transmission (8DCT). The new 8DCT wet clutch maintains fast shifting capability while increasing torque resistance by 58% thanks to optimized cooling efficiency by soaking the clutch plates in a dedicated cooling liquid solution. This combination helps the Santa Fe Turbo to accelerate from 0-100km/h in less than 8 seconds.
All versions are equipped with a Drive Mode system with 4 modes: Eco – Comfort – Sport – Smart offering different experiences for each customer. The model continues to use the HTRAC intelligent all-wheel drive system that can adjust the variable torque distribution ratio on the wheels. At the same time, HTRAC on Santa Fe is supplemented with 3 Terrain Mode terrain modes: Snow (Snow), Sand (Sand), Mud (Mud).

Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist System FCA: This system will warn and support automatic braking to help reduce the possibility of a frontal collision. The system can also recognize and analyze situations with cars, bicycles and pedestrians for reasonable intervention. FCA on Santa Fe also has the effect of supporting braking when the car is cornering and encountering an obstacle.
Blind-Spot View Monitor & Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist BVM & BCA: This system is an upgrade and supplement to the Blind-Spot Collision Warning BCW. In addition to radar, this system uses 2 wide-angle cameras to increase the driver’s field of view. When the driver turns on the turn signal to turn or overtake, the image of the blind spot on the turn signal side will be displayed on the ODO screen of the car, helping to detect objects to avoid collisions. If necessary, BCA will intervene to brake to avoid danger.
Lane Following Assist & Lane Keeping Assist System LFA & LKA: This system will issue a warning sound and automatically help the car stay in the middle of the lane, as well as assist in keeping the steering wheel without the driver having to constantly adjust. However, the system requires the driver to hold the steering wheel. If the sensor detects that the driver does not have an effect on the steering wheel, the system will warn and will turn off if the specified time limit is exceeded.
