Toyota’s third electric vehicle, the bZ3C, will be officially launched in the market later this year.

The bZ3C is a collaboration between Toyota and two Chinese automakers, FAW and BYD. It was first introduced in April this year as a pre-production model at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show. After almost half a year, Toyota has registered the bZ3C with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) in China before its official consumer launch.

Positioned in the mid-size CUV segment, the Toyota bZ3C has dimensions of 4,780 x 1,866 x 1,510 mm (length x width x height) and a wheelbase of 2,880mm. This model has a significant weight, reaching 1,920 kg.

The bZ3C’s exterior resembles the Prius, featuring a “hammerhead shark” front end and distinctive “C-shaped” headlights and taillights.

The Toyota bZ3C is equipped with an electric powertrain manufactured by BYD, comprising a powerful 268 horsepower motor and front-wheel drive. This is coupled with an LFP battery pack offering a range of 500-600 km on a single charge, according to China’s CTLC standard.

Although these images do not reveal the interior, photos from April showed that the vehicle will feature a digital instrument cluster, a large central infotainment screen, a floating center console, and ambient lighting.

The Toyota bZ3C is expected to be officially unveiled by the end of this year. It will be assembled at the FAW-Toyota joint venture plant in Tianjin, China.
