Following the release of its vehicle images, Chery has now revealed some information about its upcoming small electric SUV, the iCar V23.

The iCar V23 is a compact SUV with an off-road style, collaboratively produced by Chery and a Xiaomi subsidiary. It is expected to enter the market this year, with a starting price of 119,800 CNY (approximately 414.5 million VND).

According to the announcement, the iCar V23 boasts dimensions of 4,220 x 1,915 x 1,845 mm (length x width x height), along with a wheelbase of 2,730 mm. Compared to similarly priced competitors, Chery’s electric SUV excels in off-road capability, featuring approach and departure angles of 43 and 41 degrees, respectively, and a generous 212 mm of ground clearance.

The iCar V23 sports a rugged, boxy design reminiscent of iconic off-road SUVs such as the Mercedes-Benz G-Class, Land Rover Defender, and the classic Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40. The front of the vehicle features LED headlights and a grille inspired by the FJ40.

Although the rear of the vehicle does not have a spare tire, it does feature a small storage compartment. This compartment can only be accessed from inside the cabin and not from the outside. Additionally, the exterior is equipped with left/right cameras, a front bumper-mounted camera, and left/right radar.

Inside the cabin, the iCar V23 showcases a modern design with a large floating screen, a three-spoke steering wheel, physical control buttons, and a gear selector located behind the steering wheel. The vehicle is also equipped with multiple mm-wave radars and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip.

The Chery iCar V23 offers two powertrain options. The standard version features a single electric motor producing 134 horsepower, paired with front-wheel drive and a lithium iron phosphate battery that delivers a maximum range of approximately 400 km on a full charge.

Higher-end versions will be equipped with two electric motors, all-wheel drive, and a lithium iron phosphate battery, resulting in an impressive maximum range of 500 km per charge.

Detailed specifications regarding the drivetrain configuration, power output, and torque of this electric SUV have not yet been disclosed by the manufacturer.
