A serious fire incident occurred at an Audi dealership recently.
The luxury electric car, Audi E-Tron GT, unexpectedly caught fire while on a lift in the maintenance area of the Indiana dealership.
When the fire alarm went off, the automatic sprinkler system was activated to prevent the fire from spreading. However, the Lithium battery on the electric car ignited, and the thick smoke hampered the firefighters’ efforts to control the blaze.
To make matters worse, the Audi E-Tron GT was on a high lift, and it took over ten firefighters to devise a strategy to move the car out of the dealership.
The Audi was almost completely destroyed by the fire. Fortunately, the blaze was contained, and no other vehicles in the maintenance area were affected.
While the Audi dealership has not disclosed the cause of the fire, the e-tron GT model has been recalled multiple times due to fire concerns. As recently as March, Audi recalled 1,042 vehicles due to potential short circuits in the high-voltage battery system, which could lead to fires.
