Toyota recently unveiled a game-changing feature for its 2025 Sienna model: the ability to detect children left unattended in the vehicle. This marks a significant step forward in automotive safety and is a first for the Toyota brand.
Specifically, if the driver locks the car and the 60 GHz radar system installed in the ceiling detects the presence of a passenger in the back seat, the hazard lights will start flashing, and the door locks will emit an audible signal nine times.
If the warnings are ignored for 90 seconds, the car’s horn will sound. After four minutes, the driver will receive a notification on their smartphone app. If the doors remain unopened, the system will automatically place a call to the driver’s phone.
In the scenario where the car is unlocked, and the radar system detects movement in the back seat, the system refrains from activating the horn. Instead, it sends a warning notification after ten minutes, followed by a phone call reminder two minutes later.
It’s worth noting that all variants of the Toyota Sienna come equipped with this advanced feature. However, to enable it, owners need to subscribe to the Safety Connect package for ten years.
The 2025 Toyota Sienna also boasts other impressive features, such as a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster on the XSE, Woodland Edition, Limited, and Platinum versions. The higher-end models also include a vacuum cleaner and a small refrigerator.
Additionally, the interior of the 2025 model has been enhanced with upgraded materials and more meticulous craftsmanship compared to its predecessor.
Powering the Toyota Sienna 2025 is a hybrid powertrain, with the standard model featuring front-wheel drive and a gasoline engine assisted by two electric motors. The all-wheel-drive option includes an additional motor for the rear axle.
In the US market, the Toyota Sienna 2025 starts at $40,635 (nearly 1 billion VND).
