The Peugeot 3008 and 5008 SUVs are getting a refresh with new PHEV variants, while the all-electric E-3008 and E-5008 will boast a larger 96.9 kWh battery pack, offering an impressive range of up to 700 km (WLTP).

Peugeot has expanded its 3008 and 5008 SUV line-up in Europe, introducing long-range PHEV and EV options alongside the existing mild-hybrid and standard EV variants. This announcement comes a year after the launch of the Peugeot 3008 and six months after the introduction of the 5008.

The new PHEV powertrain for the Peugeot 3008 and 5008 twins features the latest 1.6-liter turbocharged PureTech four-cylinder gasoline engine paired with a 123-hp electric motor and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The combined output stands at 192 hp (143 kW / 195 PS) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque, sent to the front wheels.

While the new PHEV variants may be less powerful than their AWD predecessors, they offer improved all-electric range. A 21 kWh battery pack enables the Peugeot 3008 to travel up to 84 km (WLTP) on electric power alone, with a charging time of 2 hours and 45 minutes. Drivers can select from three driving modes – Hybrid, Electric, and Sport – prioritizing efficiency.

The same powertrain is also available for the Peugeot 5008, offering a slightly shorter all-electric range of 82 km. Thanks to the STLA Medium platform, the new PHEV variants offer identical boot space as the BEV and mild-hybrid variants.

Peugeot has also announced the upcoming launch of the “Long-Range 230 Electric” versions of the E-3008 and E-5008. These top-of-the-line BEV variants will be equipped with a larger 96.9 kWh battery pack (compared to the standard 73 kWh pack).

As a result, the duo will offer an impressive range of 700 km for the Peugeot E-3008 and 668 km for the larger and heavier E-5008. Both Long-Range 230 Electric models feature a single electric motor producing 227 hp and support DC charging up to 160 kW.

Peugeot proudly claims that the compact E-3008 electric SUV can complete the journey from Paris to Nice with just two stops, compared to “at least three stops for all competitors.”

The PHEV variants of the Peugeot 3008 and 5008 are now available to order in most European markets, while the EV models will follow soon after their debut at the Paris Motor Show.
