The new Chery Omoda 5 boasts an updated front-end design with a refined grille and bumper.
Chery has recently revealed the first images of the mid-life cycle facelifted Omoda 5, two years after the initial launch of this crossover in the Malaysian market. The 2025 Omoda 5 features sleeker arrow-shaped LED daytime running lights, connected by a black bar with the Omoda badge. Below, the bumper has an X-shaped design, along with a new grille featuring an impressive shuttlecock pattern. Additionally, the car is fitted with new wheels and the D-pillar is body-colored.
Chery has not released any images of the 2025 Omoda 5’s interior. The current version boasts a sporty D-cut steering wheel, two 10.25-inch horizontal screens with customizable interfaces and wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, a drive mode selector, music-syncing ambient lighting, an eight-speaker Sony infotainment system, touch-sensitive climate controls, a sunroof, and a host of other modern features…

The new Omoda remains mechanically unchanged. It continues to offer two engine options: a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine that produces 156 horsepower and 230 Nm of torque, paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT); and a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine that generates 197 horsepower and 290 Nm of torque, mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

There were rumors that the Omoda 5 would be sold in Vietnam starting in late 2022, but it has not officially launched as of now, although it was brought to Hanoi for display last year. According to recent reports, the joint venture distributing the Omoda & Jaecoo brands in Vietnam is focusing on opening 20 3S dealerships across the country in 2024 before introducing a trio of products: the Omoda 5, Omoda E5, and Jaecoo J7.
