As the Gumball 3000 2024 supercar journey reaches its final stages, a particular SUV is bound to turn heads. The Rolls-Royce Cullinan, part of Team 01, stands out not for its flashy exterior but for its unique license plate: 01.
The story of these exclusive single-digit license plates among Middle Eastern elites has long fascinated international media. Some of these plates have been auctioned off for millions of dollars, instantly turning any car they’re attached to into the world’s most expensive. However, the 01 plate on this particular Cullinan originates from Sharjah, and it is believed to be reserved for UAE royalty, not auctioned.
In addition to this unique SUV, three other Rolls-Royce Cullinans joined the team. Two of them sported eye-catching liveries: one with a black-and-white theme featuring a panda in various moods, and the other with a Singapore license plate. The remaining two Cullinans were more subdued, with one in matte green and the other a mysterious Black Badge edition in glossy black.
On the Black Badge edition, typically chrome, polished, or silver elements like the grille, the Spirit of Ecstasy hood ornament, headlight and taillight surrounds, door handles, and exhaust tips were all darkened for a stealthier look.
The Black Badge edition of the Rolls-Royce Cullinan also boasts a stunning set of two-tone, five-spoke alloy wheels—one of the most attractive wheel designs on any SUV today.
Under the hood, the Cullinan Black Badge delivers more power than the standard model. It’s equipped with a 6.75-liter twin-turbocharged V12 engine that produces 592 horsepower, an increase of 29 hp, and 900 Nm of torque, a boost of 50 Nm. This powerplant is mated to a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive system, along with a new four-wheel steering system exclusive to the Black Badge model. As a result, the Cullinan Black Badge can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5 seconds and has a top speed of 250 km/h.
