The All-New Honda Civic: Unveiling the 2025 Model with a Hybrid Twist
In addition to introducing a new hybrid powertrain, the 2025 Honda Civic receives exterior and interior updates to enhance its competitiveness within the segment.
Back in 2021, the 11th-generation Honda Civic made its debut in the Philippines, offering solely the 1.5L VTEC Turbo engine. However, with the rising demand for hybrid vehicles in the country, Honda has decided to expand the lineup for its popular sedan by introducing an electrified powertrain.
Honda Cars Philippines has recently unveiled the 2025 Civic, now equipped with a new hybrid system. Alongside this new powertrain, the 2025 Civic also boasts significant updates to its exterior and interior to stay competitive within its class.
Starting with the exterior, the front end of the 2025 Honda Civic features a redesigned bumper with a larger lower grille and thinner side air intakes. The rest of the vehicle’s body remains unchanged, except for the unique 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.
Inside the cabin, the Honda Civic 2025 has been upgraded with a new 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless charging pad, and a USB-C port. The top-of-the-line RS e:HEV trim features a premium Bose sound system with 12 speakers.
While exact specifications are yet to be disclosed, those seeking a more potent and efficient Civic can opt for the new 2.0L e:HEV engine, delivering 181 horsepower and 315 Nm of torque, paired with a dedicated hybrid transmission.
On the other hand, pure ICE (internal combustion engine) variants may still be offered in lower trims of the Civic. The 1.5L VTEC Turbo engine is likely to retain its output of 175 horsepower and 240 Nm of torque, mated to a CVT transmission.
According to Autoindustrya, new features expected in the 2025 Civic include the Honda Connect, first introduced in the CR-V, and an enhanced version of Honda Sensing ADAS.
Honda will officially launch the 2025 Civic at the Philippines International Motor Show in October this year.
