This VinFast VF 3 has undergone a remarkable transformation at a renowned Saigon-based car modification workshop, adopting a Land Rover Defender-inspired exterior and an interior that draws influence from the latest Mercedes models.
Recently, the owner of a well-known car modification workshop in Saigon has caused a stir in the online community with his project to reshape the VinFast VF 3 in the style of the iconic Land Rover Defender, a celebrated SUV from the UK.
As seen in the video posted by Mr. Xuan Hoan, the VinFast VF 3 has been upgraded with round headlights, reminiscent of the Defender. The front and rear bumpers have also been redesigned, imparting a robust and muscular appearance that pays homage to the renowned British SUV. According to the modifiers, the front and rear bumpers, as well as the grille, are crafted from composite materials, allowing for quicker shaping and offering greater durability than plastic, albeit with a 30% weight increase.
The hood has been modified to open and close like a conventional car, and a composite-made storage compartment, meticulously lined with fabric, has been added beneath it.
Moving to the rear, the VinFast VF 3 sports a redesigned taillight assembly, highlighted by a full-width LED strip spanning the entire trunk. The side mirrors retain their original design but now incorporate LED turn signals.
The most notable exterior upgrade on this VinFast VF3 is undoubtedly the custom-made wheels, inspired by Mansory, a renowned wheel manufacturer. “There’s no other 16-inch Mansory wheel like this in the world,” asserts Mr. Xuan Hoan.
The modifications are not limited to the exterior, as the interior of this VinFast VF 3 has also undergone significant enhancements. Although still a work in progress, the video reveals the addition of a large central armrest with wireless charging capabilities and storage space. The door design has been revamped with touch-sensitive seat adjustment controls, drawing inspiration from the latest Mercedes models. Furthermore, the audio system has been upgraded with an 8-inch subwoofer.
Selecting the right seats for this vehicle presented a dilemma. The owner had to choose between seats from the 2021 Mercedes-AMG E63 or the 2023 AMG GT 53. The former stands out with its unique side grips that can be folded down to access the rear seats, and they cost VND 180 million to import.
On the other hand, the AMG GT 53 seats are crafted from lightweight aluminum alloy and integrate a speaker system, but they come at a higher price tag of VND 280 million. However, these seats cannot be folded due to their design for a four-door vehicle. Mr. Xuan Hoan mentions that if he decides to keep the rear seats, he would opt for the E63 seats, but if he chooses to remove the rear seats for more storage space, he would go with the GT 53 seats.
