According to Carscoops, the updated version of the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV will be launched in Japan in the coming months with notable enhancements.
Despite Mitsubishi introducing it as having a “more refined and modern” exterior, the updated Outlander PHEV doesn’t seem to differ significantly from the current model.
The Japanese automaker adds the Moonstone Gray Metallic exterior color option for the PHEV variant of the compact SUV, along with new two-tone 20-inch alloy wheels.
Inside the cabin, the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV will feature an audio system with Yamaha speakers and semi-aniline leather seats with cooling functionality. At the center of the dashboard is a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, replacing the 8-inch and 9-inch screens on the current version.

Mitsubishi will also equip the Outlander PHEV with a new type of battery, significantly extending its all-electric range. The Japanese automaker also hints at a higher power output, allowing for more robust and smoother acceleration.
The current PHEV version of the Mitsubishi Outlander is equipped with a 2.4L gasoline engine, combined with two electric motors and a 20 kWh battery pack. With this configuration, this plug-in hybrid has a total output of 248 horsepower and can operate up to approximately 61 km in EV mode.
In Vietnam, the Mitsubishi Outlander is currently available in two versions, both powered by a 2.0L gasoline engine, priced at 825 million VND and 950 million VND, respectively. In the first half of the year, Mitsubishi Outlander sold 536 units, equivalent to an average monthly sales of over 89 units.
