The Gumball 3000 2024 supercar event, held over 8 days with the first 2 days taking place in Vietnam, treated car enthusiasts to a true spectacle. The event showcased unique modified cars, as well as those that had never been seen before or had been hidden away for a long time. One such car was the Ferrari 458 Italia Liberty Walk edition.
Purchased 2 years ago, the owner, Mr. Dang Le Nguyen Vu, chose to unveil his Ferrari 458 Italia Liberty Walk for the first time at the Gumball 3000 2024, the world’s largest supercar event, which took place in Vietnam in September.
Among a stunning collection of 13 supercars, the Ferrari 458 Italia Liberty Walk stood out with its intricate wide-body kit. The car also features a massive rear wing, promising to be one of the most beautiful and unique supercars at Gumball 3000 2024.
Mr. Vu acquired the Ferrari 458 Italia Liberty Walk by chance at a “supercar market” from a friend. Just a few days before, he had also purchased the one-of-a-kind Ferrari F12 Berlinetta Duke Dynamics edition in Vietnam. Interestingly, both of these unique supercars once shared the same owner.
While the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta Duke Dynamics edition was displayed at a Trung Nguyen event in November 2022, the Ferrari 458 Italia Liberty Walk remained hidden away in the Tay Nguyen mountains for quite some time.
Compared to the images we captured in 2021, the car now sports a silver exterior with black wheels, a more rugged look compared to the previous red body and gold-tinted wheels.
Mr. Vu’s Ferrari 458 Italia shocked the Vietnamese car community back in 2017 when he decided to modify it with a Liberty Walk kit. The CEO of the renowned Japanese tuning company even flew to Vietnam to personally oversee the project and signed the dashboard, marking it as the first Liberty Walk-tuned Ferrari in the country.
After Mr. Vu’s Ferrari 458 Italia Liberty Walk, many Vietnamese businessmen chose the same Japanese tuner for their supercars. However, Mr. Vu’s car remains the most talked-about Liberty Walk project in the country.
The carbon fiber Liberty Walk components, including the front lip, side skirts, and wide-body kit, remain unchanged. However, the massive rear wing has been removed, and the roof has been painted glossy black to contrast the silver body. The interior has also been refreshed with new red and black leather upholstery.
The Ferrari 458 Italia is powered by a 4.5-liter V8 engine that produces 570 horsepower and 540 Nm of torque. Paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, the car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and has a top speed of 325 km/h. It is also equipped with an Fi exhaust system.
