Gumball 3000 is one of the world’s largest supercar rallies, so it’s no surprise that it attracts some of the wealthiest individuals. But what’s incredible about this annual celebration of automotive, fashion, and musical passion is that it gives children around the world the opportunity to see a supercar, hypercar, or megacar up close for the first time.

After all, some of them might grow up to be car enthusiasts themselves, with the means to buy their dream car or a supercar version of a vehicle they admired as a child. Making its first appearance in ASEAN, the Gumball 3000 2024 rally brought with it some stunning cars and significant charitable donations.

And aside from the passion for supercar admiration, you might also be curious about how much these participants are shelling out to be a part of Gumball 3000 2024. The minimum participation cost is VND 2.5 billion, which covers the entry fee and essentials but excludes fuel, beverages, snacks, co-driver expenses, and other costs.

Based on information from a few members, the site Autoevolution estimated that the average cost of participating in the world’s largest supercar rally, Gumball 3000, in 2024, running from Vietnam to Singapore, would amount to VND 6.2 billion, making it the most expensive edition yet.

Specifically, in 2023, Mark McCann, a British entrepreneur and supercar enthusiast, spent over £100,000 (approximately £133,250 or VND 3 billion) to join the Gumball 3000 event. He noted that the entry fee sometimes isn’t enough to cover all the costs of organizing Gumball 3000, which is why sponsors are crucial to the rally. They help make it worthwhile.

The team that donates the most gets to start first. On September 15, 2024, on Le Loi Avenue in District 1, the Ferrari 296 GTB of Team 26 took the lead after donating £118,888.88 (approximately $158,390 or VND 3.65 billion).

Lastly, don’t assume that those behind Gumball 3000 are getting rich off of it. A significant portion of the proceeds goes to charity, making the rally one of the world’s most significant charitable events.
