In addition to his passion for collecting supercars from brands like Ferrari and Aston Martin, Vietnamese entrepreneur Dang Le Nguyen Vu, also known as the “Coffee King,” has a soft spot for hunting down Porsche vehicles, with a particular interest in the 930 Turbo model.
Recently, Vu added a stunning, nearly 50-year-old Porsche 930 Turbo sports car to his garage, marking the fourth Porsche 930 Turbo in his publicly known car collection.
Regarding his newly acquired Porsche 930 Turbo, Mr. Vu shared that the car is in pristine condition and that he looks forward to driving it around town for everyone to admire. The exterior of the car boasts a sleek silver color, similar to the first Porsche owned by the Vietnamese “Coffee King,” while the interior is adorned with black leather upholstery.
The Porsche 930 Turbo was manufactured from 1975 to 1989 and was the top-of-the-line 911 model during its entire production run. At its debut, it was the fastest production car available in Germany, which is why the 930 Turbo remains sought-after even today, almost 50 years later.
During its nearly 15-year production run, the Porsche 930 Turbo can be divided into two periods: 1975–1977, when it was equipped with a 3.0-liter engine, with a total of 2,819 units produced, and the remaining years from 1978–1989, when it featured a 3.3-liter engine, resulting in 18,770 cars rolling off the production line.
The Porsche 930 Turbo is powered by a 3.3-liter, 6-cylinder engine with a turbocharger, delivering an impressive 282 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 412 Nm at 4,000 rpm.
As Mr. Vu’s newly acquired Porsche 930 Turbo was imported from the United States, it can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds, reaching a top speed of 250 km/h. For those seeking even higher speeds, the European-spec Porsche 930 Turbo is capable of reaching a top speed of 278 km/h.
