Celebrating its 25th anniversary (1999 – 2024), the Gumball 3000 – Saigon to Singapore event brought a spectacular supercar showcase and charity fundraiser to Ho Chi Minh City on September 14 and 15. This year, the largest supercar rally included five Ferrari 812s, with only one being the coveted Competizione model.
The Ferrari 812 Competizione participating in the Gumball 3000 2024 rally was part of Team 64, consisting of two Dutch members. The Ferrari 812 Competizione is a limited-edition model, with only 999 units produced globally, and none have been officially imported to Vietnam yet. Thus, its presence at Gumball 3000 this year garnered significant attention from local car enthusiasts.
This particular Ferrari 812 Competizione features a stunning matte blue exterior with yellow stripes running from the hood to the roof and onto the rear spoiler. One of the most noticeable differences from the standard model is the absence of a rear window, replaced by an aluminum panel.
One of the standout features of the Ferrari 812 Competizione is its multi-layered hood, upgraded with a carbon fiber bar that disguises the engine bay vents while increasing their ventilation area.
The Ferrari 812 Competizione boasts an aggressive front end, featuring a massive central grille and distinctive air intakes on both sides, along with a carbon fiber front splitter that emphasizes the car’s wide and low stance.
Powering the Ferrari 812 Competizione is a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine that produces a staggering 818 horsepower and 692 Nm of torque. This power is delivered to the wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, enabling the supercar to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.85 seconds and reach a top speed of 340 km/h.
When it was first released, the Ferrari 812 Competizione was priced at 700,000 USD (~18 billion VND), but its value has likely doubled due to its limited production run.
