Mazda has recently started pre-orders for its all-electric EZ-6 and EREV (extended-range electric vehicle) variants.
While the pricing for these models has not yet been disclosed, it is expected to range from 160,000 to 200,000 Chinese yuan (approximately 561 to 702 million VND).Â
Mazda EZ-6 is a collaboration between the Japanese brand and Changan, a Chinese automotive company, and is positioned as the successor to the soon-to-be-discontinued Mazda6.
The Mazda EZ-6 boasts sporty design cues with a fastback-style sloping roof and an active spoiler integrated into the trunk lid. The front grille features a faux 3D design with LED lighting around the edges, accompanied by slender daytime running lights that are characteristic of Mazda. Meanwhile, the main headlights are positioned separately, lower down. At the rear, the signature circular LED taillights are retained, enhanced by a full-width LED strip across the trunk lid.Â
The Mazda EZ-6 showcases a modern and minimalist interior, with most controls integrated into a 14.6-inch touchscreen display positioned in the center of the dashboard. The steering wheel and 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster resemble those found in the Deepal SL03 model. Instead of the usual Bose speakers, this sedan features a premium Sony sound system. Additionally, it includes ambient lighting.
The Mazda EZ-6 incorporates cutting-edge artificial intelligence and electrification technologies from Changan Automobile. This all-electric sedan is equipped with Level 2.5 autonomous driving capabilities, a Qualcomm SA8155P 7nm chip, four high-resolution panoramic cameras, and twelve high-performance ultrasonic radars. These features enable functions such as automatic parking, remote parking, smart remote parking, and trace parking.
The all-electric variant of the Mazda EZ-6 is powered by a rear-axle-mounted MSED04 190 kW electric motor, paired with either a 56.1 kWh or 68.8 kWh battery, offering a range of 480 km or 600 km, respectively. The battery is a lithium iron phosphate type, capable of charging from 30% to 80% in just 15 minutes.
On the other hand, the Mazda EZ-6 EREV version will be fitted with a JL473QJ 1.5-liter engine producing 70 kW of power. However, the power delivered to the wheels comes from a 160 kW electric motor. Depending on the battery capacity, the all-electric range is either 130 km or 200 km, with a total range of 1,301 km. The EREV variant can charge from 30% to 80% in 20 minutes.
